Guess Who Got an Idea for a Universe for My OCs?

It’s a long post, so I’ll keep the info under the cut.

Okay, so the basics is that they all work near a lab / they work in the lab. There are many departments that are separated by floors, and they mostly work on different floors and don’t really talk because of that. Viri and Winter are still best friends, they just talk after hours (Viri works at the souvenir shop on the Tour Floor).

One day, there’s an accident (because they’re in a lab), and everyone meets in different situations and/or separately because there’s been a lab accident. Some OCs are purely human, part-aliens, robots, etc.. 

I know that Winter and Viri are going to be humans, and that Winter would be working in the Edibles Department. Meri would also work with Winter, and help with organizing and memorizing things. 

One person runs the Robotics Department, but they also have the help of robots and a hologram that’s (affectionally) called “Dr. Daisy Caise”. The hologram is actually called CAISE (Clever Artificial Intelligence of Service), and was originally meant to help new scientists. There was only one CAISE made, however, and xe now just hangs out in Robotics.

The lab accident was that a virus spread across the tech and basically shut down the facility. Luckily, stairs are a thing, so no one is stranded on the lower levels. However, now everyone needs to worry about the robots and the computers that operate the doors that are glitching out. It’s kind of harmless with the computers, but it’s causing huge problems such as cutting off communication, messing with the elevators (randomly opening and closing doors), and randomly shutting and opening protective doors. So the virus is still a danger, since it’s randomly opening and closing things.

No one really knows what’s going on with the robots, but Oliv (the person who is running the Robotics Department) is telling people to just knock the robots out, so it’s probably not good. With the robots, you can tell they’re infected because their eyes will be pure HEX code FFFFFF. All the robots have their own HEX codes as their eyes, and even if they look alike, they’re really not .

Their names are their HEX codes, and there’s no 000000 or FFFFFF. Any robots with HEX code 000000 eyes are probably rebooting or sleeping. The virus is spread through chips that attach to any tech. These chips contain the virus, and the virus will only be deactivated if the chips are destroyed or removed (kinda like She-Ra, but only with tech). 

That’s all I have so far for the universe my OCs live in. I will gladly talk about this with anyone who asks!

Notes: Daisy Caise uses xe/xim/xis pronouns (main color: HEX code DA157C), Meri Stewart uses she/her/her pronouns, and Oliv Vinstock uses they/them/their pronouns. Winter still uses no pronouns, and Viri now uses he/him/his and they/them/their pronouns.

🍇 Day or Night? Sun or Rain? Summer or Winter? With Daisy?

Day or Night

Daisy likes stargazing with Oliv, sometimes. It’s also easier to see Daisy’s hologram form in the dark.

Sun or Rain

Aesthetically, the rain is nice. However, xe doesn’t really like being in the rain due to what it does to xis robot body/hologram form. 

Summer or Winter

They’re both equally bad, but xe’d choose winter if absolutely necessary. Xe easily overheats (like a laptop), so summer would just be terrible for xim. 

Winter also allows xim to stay indoors, which is a plus.

About Oliv

If you have no idea what I’m talking about: Oliv is an OC I made that’s slightly talked about in this post and the “About Daisy” post. Oliv is the only human being in the Robotics Department, which is primarily made up of robots. They like constant noise, and often zone out to it while working. Oliv uses they/them pronouns.

Oliv made a majority of the HEX robots (robots that go by HEX codes). Due to this fact, they’re often seen as a parental figure to the robots; they’ll gladly fight for their children. A common myth in the research facility is that Oliv made Daisy, which is false since Daisy had existed for 29 years before Oliv showed up. It isn’t a myth, however, that the two share a birthday (Oliv is 1 year younger than Daisy, however). 

If left alone with any machines (be it vending machines or cars), they will gladly dismantle it to look at its pieces. They have done this with the one vending machine they had in the Robotics department, and no one knows what happened to it. Another example was the (very fake) machine that two salesmen tried to sell to the facility, Oliv managed to dismantle it while the two were given the sales pitch.

Oliv isn’t entirely human, and more of a cyborg at this point. In my first design for them, they had arms like Dr. Octavius from Spiderman does, and I’m planning on keeping that aspect in their designs. They also did something to biological body, since they are now able to lift tanks over their head. I only imagined this situation because of that one scene in She-Ra where Adora yells “Oh, so she gets to throw tanks at us?!”.

Oliv’s only friends are those who regularly visit Robotics (aka, Daisy and the HEX robots). Because of this, they don’t have a lot of friends. This has also caused several rumors about them to pop up. None of these rumors are true (there’s only one rumor that is correct, but I won’t say), but there are plenty of them.

About Daisy

If you have no idea what I’m talking about: Daisy Caise is an OC I made that is slightly talked about in this post. “Dr. Daisy Caise” is a hologram unit that was originally meant to help new scientists. The reason xe is called “Daisy” is because xe took an interest in flowers once and Oliv started affectionately calling xim that. Xe is a CAISE (Clever Artificial Intelligence of Service) unit, and was the only one made. Daisy uses xe/xim/xis pronouns.

Now you know what I’m talking about, I’ll talk more about xim under the cut.

Since Daisy was originally going to be only one unit apart of several, xe would have been programmed to be a part of a hivemind. The reason for that is because CAISE units are supposed to help new scientists, and having all of them connected would help the AI understand newer scientists. The CAISE units would be able to send messages to each other and efficiently answer questions, but there’s only one unit so that can’t be done.

Daisy hates silences, which is why xe often stays in the Robotics Department. The department often has noise because of Oliv, since they’re either talking to a robot or they’re blasting a song while working. Daisy also gets lonely, since xe was originally programmed to be in a hivemind but there’s no hivemind. There’s always someone in robotics, so xe feels less lonely there.

As a Note: No one knows who made Daisy, not even Oliv (who’s a massive tech nerd, and has practically studied everything about tech). Some think it’s a Dr. Gaster situation, where xis creator was pulled into a different dimension, but there are no signs of past portals that could have done that.
