Why: In my dream world, I'd be the girl that always knew what to wear on every single occasion and never had an I HAVE NOTHING TO WEAR moment. Then I flash back to reality and have the same mild freak out three outta five days a week on how to get dressed. The good news is that I have a lot of recipes/formulas I like to fall back on (like colorful pencil skirts and ladylike blouses or casual uniforms), which helps when I'm in a rush.
And sometimes, I feel like my closet is talking to me (not really, but... hang with me on this one), when two items just happen to end up hanging together and I wonder why DIDN'T I THINK OF THAT SOONER?!
Today's outfit is a result of that magic. I've gone from a winter nautical look before this season, but this has the same seafaring elements - the inky dark navy and cream, the peacoat and stripes.
Both the peacoat and stripes have had major rotation in my wardrobe, lowing their cost per wear to make for two great investments. Here are the ways I've worn the peacoat (one, two, three, four) and the striped dress (one, two, three, four, five, six).
