Yukina's Winter Reminders
Hello everyone. I just wanted to make a post about winter weather for those experiencing it right now.
Snow is very fun to play in, but you must remember to take care while enjoying it.
Change wet clothing as soon as possible. Consider warmer, waterproof clothing if you can.
White snow is beautiful, but it reflects the sun and can hurt your eyes. Wear sunglasses or winter goggles to keep your eyes safe.
You lose a lot of heat from your head, so make sure to have a warm touque or hat. Ear muffs make a cute accessory and will keep your ears safe from the winter's chill.
Your toes and fingers often get cold faster due to the distance from your core: wear warm, waterproof boots and gloves/mittens.
Your nose too! Cover up if you can tolerate scarves or balaclava over your face.
Remember to warm up every now and then, especially when you start to feel the cold.
Ice can be a sneaky danger.
Boots with good grip can help prevent a fall.
Watch where you're walking and do not run across icy surfaces.
Do not walk across unchecked frozen water. Please stick to approved skating areas. Ravines and stormponds can have current moving under their surface making the ice thin and fragile.
For those who drive, 7° Celcius or 45° Fahrenheit are when winter tires start to become most useful. The softer rubber grips the cold road and slush better than the stiffer rubber of summer or all-season tires.
Even with all these precautions, ice can still cause a fall. Check yourself over after, and consider medical help if it's severe or you hit your head.
Please remember to take care while you have fun this winter! Spring would be ever so lonely without you.
