soulmates as a horror trope,,,
something queerplatonic going on between the aromantic guy that is in love with the concept of love and the alloromantic guy that finds the feelings of love repulsive
sexual attraction: man I want to fuck that person
romantic attraction: man I want to kiss that person
platonic attraction: that person's soul and mine are bonded together in such a way separation would kill me and I would destroy the world for five more minutes beside them
remembering I have free will and giving my ocs their own timeloop au
9 for the trauma ask game :D
(I've been seeing the posts you tag w winterbruno and it's been making me so curious dude)
9. Are they looking for someone to save them or do they believe they're beyond saving?
Before Winter and Bruno met each other, Bruno believed that if he kept working hard and putting maximum effort into everything, it would be able to fill the emptiness he could never quite shake off, bur at the same time he never fully believed he could save himself, and longed for someone else. This came in the form of his ex-girlfriend Ruby, but when she was still not enough to make him feel fulfilled, he distanced himself from her. Winter never thought another person could save him and didn't have friends before Bruno, choosing to keep to himself.
After growing attached to each other, Winter put everything into his relationship with Bruno, unable to imagine a future without him because Bruno was the only person who ever made him truly feel like himself, and believing he was the only thing that could save him. Bruno was never quite as attached as Winter became, and when he recognized that he would never be able to form a true sense of self around another person, he grew more distant from Winter.

13. Are they queer?
Winter and Bruno are both somewhat ambiguously gay/bi, and Bruno falls somewhere on the aromantic spectrum, but neither of them are ever going to fully label themselves as such (with the internalized homophobia and all)
They're both transmasc (and t4t!!!) but they are both deeply uncomfortable with this, with Winter transitioning and being a mostly passing trans man so he has to think about who he used to be as little as possible, and Bruno staying closeted to everyone except Winter, trying to still portray himself as a girl to keep the approval of his family and to try to fake it to himself that he can keep living this way.
16. What's one song that makes you think of them?
Ambiguous non-answer, they have been in my head too frequently lately so every song has started to feel a little bit like them. Starting Fires by Bears In Trees always makes me think of them, but this may be because there are so few songs about queerplatonic relationships, and I can't think of any other that portrays a toxic one. ("I'll never feel whole but you're as close as I'll get.") I can't imagine either of them actually listening to Bears In Trees though. Music artists everywhere you should write more songs about codependent queerplatonic relationships I'm starved for content to project onto my boys lol
(also might I add Winter most certainly likes Car Seat Headrest <- guy who has been listening to them a lot lately and wants his ocs to do the same)
20. Will they recover from their trauma or will it consume them?
They both are not going to get better until they at least leave their hometown and move away from their parents. They will not be going together and know they are on different paths in life, but they have nobody they care about but each other and will struggle with growing close to anybody else. They are 18 and 17 respectively and are almost old enough to do so. During their college years, they will eventually form other friends and relationships and start to recover, but especially Winter struggles to shake the belief that Bruno was the only person who ever cared for him. As much as it hurts Winter and Bruno, they are healthier when apart from each other.

5. Have they killed anyone? If they have would they kill again? If not would they kill at all?
While they have never given into the urge to that extent, both Winter and Bruno are prone to violent tendencies (albeit Bruno is much better at suppressing them than Winter). Bruno's rage toward his brother has led to him considering it at his worst, but he would never go so far as to hurt Sky and has a terrible guilt for having thought this way. Winter used to lash out violently at the kids who bullied him when he was young, which is why most people his age now tend to give him space. It would be unlikely that either of them would ever go so far as to kill, but if Bruno were to learn the extent of Winter's parents' neglect, he would consider taking revenge for his friend's abuse.
6. What's their greatest fear?
Outwardly, Bruno believes he fears change, which is why he allows himself to stay with few friends only associating with his mother and siblings, but truthfully Bruno fears stagnation more than anything, and for this reason is unable to stay comfortable in a friendship or relationship for long. He enjoys the rush of flings and relationships that do not last but considers a peaceful married life a fate worse than death (which might also tie in to the aromanticism but he is never going to process that)
Winter is quite the opposite. He is always moving from one place to another, both physically and in his social life, but he has never dealt with change well, and he latched onto Bruno because he was the first stable thing that stayed consistent in his life. In addition, as he has just recently turned eighteen, Winter fears the change that comes with growing up, and is yet to see himself as an adult.
As for more physical fears, Winter is scared of cars and never learned how to drive, and Bruno is terrified of heights.

15. Are they neurodivergent?
Not explicitly, although my tendency to project onto them means they are very likely both at least neurodivergent-coded. If they were, neither of them would have a proper diagnosis as Winter's parents would never have noticed or bothered to get it checked out, and Bruno would try to hide it to not worry his mother.
