Start planning your winter garden! From late October to late November I plant cold-hardy lettuce, spinach, arugula, mizuna, carrots, and sometimes beets for harvests between February and April. I use high or low poly-tunnels to protect the crops, and because we have fairly wet winters, I do not have to water once the seedlings are established. Pictured here is Landis Winter Lettuce, a delicious butterhead selected by the Pennsylvania Dutch from the now-extinct late-1700s White Tennisball Lettuce. These seeds plus Winterspinat Haldenstien (a nutty and extra cold-hardy spinach); Ice-Bred Arugula, and Mizuna Landrace are all available now at www.trueloveseeds.com. #trueloveseeds #wintercrops #seasonextension #landiswinterlettuce https://www.instagram.com/p/BnhMq0slyOy/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=h2bba7px7jdd
