Based from my memory, I think it’s because of how playful their banter became in future books (after Jasper kinda stopped being a mean guy) and how he does care for Callum. I dunno how to elaborate more cuz again i forgot a lot except for that time he visited Callum in prison and when he helped save him and stuff
