oh my god, i know that ozorne’s a villain, but his line about numair sharing his bed with all her animals too was probably the creepiest thing i’d read in a tamora pierce book. especially as she planned for them to get together eventually.
Yeah, like, it was supposed to be creepy bc he’s a creepy guy and all but it always ends up just grossing me out even more because of the fact that they get together. And not necessarily bc I 100% disapprove of them ever being in a relationship together, ever, bc like I said I agree with you that I would’ve been okay with them getting together sometime in PotS when Daine’s older.
But it’s the just the way the rest of that scene played out and the way they get together, like... Numair reacts so violently when Ozorne says that literally because he’s already in love with her, which gets emphasized a couple more times in EM (him threatening Kaddar, one of Daine’s animal friends flat-out stating he loves her), and it’s so uncomfortable because she’s so young! She’s literally a baby in that book!! So that def adds a ton of creep-factor to that whole scene for me.
