Regina + How does she deal with any kind of trauma? (Except the Murphy one, if she has any?)

Cassie + Was she popular in highschool / had any friends in highschool? If yes, is she in contact with any of them?

Ria + How is her relationship with Verda?

Haley + Does she has any pet peeves which Felix disagrees with? (Like, any kind of opposite interests within them?)

thank you for the ask, neha!! these are really great questions!

Regina + trauma: This is very interesting because I never really thought about specifics related to trauma in any of my detectives’ backstory (with the exception of Ria-ish), and I just listened to a podcast about how microaggressions and a lack of a sense of belonging throughout childhood and adolescence can manifest itself into trauma behaviors and reactions in adulthood.

Which would make a lot of sense for Regina - there was no “big T” traumatic event or anything like that, but there was a lot of feeling like people who she cared for and who supposedly cared about her didn’t end up sticking around. I wouldn’t call it major abandonment issues or anything, but close to it. It’s why she struggles with Adam and UB’s immortality compared to her own. Cassie + high school: She wasn’t popular in high school and kept to herself mostly. She was generally left alone and did have a few friends she studied with in high school (none of whom she kept in touch with), but spent most of her time in the library. She was taking several advanced courses and independent study (in psychology) so she didn’t really have time to socialize. Ria + Verda: Tense most of the time since Ria is very impulsive and prone to act on her emotions, and often physically. Verda is much more cautious and always concerned about her getting hurt, so they tend to bicker a lot at work. They get along otherwise professionally or when Tina forces the tension to break between them with her antics.

Harley + pet peeves: In the beginning of their relationship, there’s a couple of things that put them at odds with each other but I wouldn’t call them opposite interests or anything like that.

One is how messy Harley is, they genuinely doesn’t care about the state of her apartment, and sometimes, her own physical state (they’re totally fine not showering right away after a day out in the woods - which, is really gross to me) and Felix, because of his hypersenses and all and general care he puts into his physical well-being, takes issue with that (but in the most caring way, of course).

Two is how complacent and indifferent Harley has gotten with their own life and view of life in general. They’ve been content to just go with the flow and not really think about the future or take a curious interest in anything around them. Felix, on the other hand, wants to live life to the fullest, try new things, and experience life. It’s a bit much for her at first but gradually, they ‘thaw’ in many ways and begin to enjoy and look forward to things in general thanks to Felix’s enthusiasm.
