My story for long-live-mystrade for the Mystrade Winter Exchange! I'm so sorry this is so late, things have been absolutely crazy on my end. I hope you like it!! I'll finish the next (and last) chapter as soon as I can.

This is my gift for parnassesrose for the winter mystrade event.  I'm so sorry once again for being late!!!  This is the first chapter of a 2 or 3 parts fic, I'm still not sure yet, but what I can assure you, it's there's gonna be more fluff coming this way in the next part(s) :D  

I hope you like it, it's been years since I've done chaptered fics (my muse being half-dead most of the time is not helping but I'm good at kicking it back alive haha)

Summary: WWII AU. Mycroft Holmes is a high ranked british officer, specialized into intelligence related missions. In a string of operations to take down nazis secret camps, his team falls upon a man who could change more than the war's outcome. He could even change Mycroft's life.

A gift for the absolutely amazing Gooberfeesh for the WinterMystradeExchange who wrote me the most amazing fic in return. 

I'm a little worried that this may fall a little short of what you delivered man but I hope you like it all the same. 

“Where exactly do you think you’re going?” Greg Lestrade asked, arching his brow as he glanced over the rim of his morning cup of coffee at the retreating figure before him.

Mycroft grimaced and, after clearing his throat and attempting to make himself look as presentable as possible, turned around to face the other man.

“To work, Gregory. Like I do every day at this time,” he replied calmly, raising his brows in an effort to mirror his partner’s scepticism.

Greg sniffed.

“Don’t give me that,” he retorted.  “You’re sick. We both know it.”

“I’m fine,” Mycroft insisted, shaking his head.

“Um, excuse me. Look in a mirror, My.”

Rolling his eyes Mycroft pursed his lips impatiently and replied, “Honestly you’re being overly dramatic.”

“Right, I’m finding a mirror. Don’t move.”

“Alright alright, I may be a little under the weather. But that doesn’t mean that I need to take the entire day off. That would be a total waste. It’ll pass in no time.  I just need to push through it.”

“Mycroft, trust me on this one,” Greg drawled, getting up from his seat at the table and walking over to the other man. “If you attempt to push through this you’re going to make yourself pass out.”

“Now honestly, that’s just ridiculous.”

“I know for a fact that you got no sleep last night.”

“Is that so?”

“I know that because I got no sleep last night,” Greg said. “Because you spent the whole night tossing and turning, and sniffling and coughing.”

“I’ve already admitted I’m a little under the weather.”

“Then be reasonable about this.”

“Gregory honestly, I’ll be fine. I’ve already taken some cold and flu medicine, I’ll drink water. Everything that you’d make me do here I can do at work.”

“Apart from relaxing.”

“I can relax when I get home.”’

“Or,” Greg murmured, stepping closer still and bringing his hand up to cup the other man’s feverish cheek. “You can stay home and I can help you. I can stay home as well, spend the day looking after you. Pampering you.” He smiled and arched his brow. “I know you like that.”

Mycroft faltered.

“Come on Mycroft,” Greg murmured. “Be reasonable. Stay home and let me take care of you.”

“I... suppose that could be agreeable,” Mycroft murmured after a long pause, a small smile tugging at his lips. “As long as it’s not a hassle to you.”

“It’s absolutely not a hassle,” Greg said with a relieved smile. “Come on, let’s get you out of those clothes and into something a little more comfortable.”

“What do you have in mind,” Mycroft chuckled, a small, mischievous smile tugging at his lips.

“Oh, so many things,” Greg drawled.

When I found out I was writing for you, communionnimrod, I was SO excited!  And then I was really nervous, as your work is so amazing and perfect and I loved reading your work over the past year with your 365 days of Mystrade.  :)

This fic has a bit of everything- adventure, BAMF Anthea, Sherlock being Sherlock, and in the end two people who love each other very much ending up in each other's arms.  :)

There will be a brief epilogue posted in the next 24 or so hours.
