On My way home to sthlm! The light is amazing in Gothenburg! #gbgfilmfestival #giff #gff #gff2015 #x2000 #sthlmbound #wintersweden #nightintheafternoon (at Sj X2000)
It’s cold and this is just the start of winter!
Yes because the winters in Sweden are long! Unless you’re from the Northpole mid-Sweden it won’t be so cold for you. Most of us aren’t so therefore it’s wise to look for a good winterjacket ASAP! Yes, it’s an investment but worth it for sure! The Swedes know and Swedish brands fabricate the jackets especially for this climate. With special advanced technology your jacket is light as a feather and still keeps you warm and dry during the winter. You can get them at the stores near IKEA and also Stadium( the most well-known winter fashion store in Sweden), offers good brands. Some advice: Wait until November if the weather allows it to buy a winter jacket. Huge discounts are given and that safes in your wallet a lot! Also if you like second-hand shops. Very recently a second hand shop opened. They offer a wide range of all kinds of clothing but also things for the household. A certain percentage of the profit goes to charity.
The Zorn Museet
I always want to visit a museum in whatever place I am at that moment. I think it’s a great way to identify yourself with a place and see the past and the present merging together, told as an interesting story. Museums are often peaceful and create a unique atmosphere. A nice way to get lost and be for a while in your own world. Let me introduce you to the Zorn Museet. The museum, Swedes really like to talk about. This museum is completely devoted to the most famous and brilliant painter of Swedish history. In the beautiful exposition space, a large collection of his stunning art work is displayed. He was not only talented with painting but also with wood carvings. Although he travelled around the world, his favorite place to be in was Dalarna and many images are represented in his work of beautiful and characterizing scenery’s. There’s a café with delicious typical Swedish pastry and soups. There’s even an entertainment room for the little ones. Don’t forget to buy some souvenirs in the beautiful shop, which is also the entrance of the museum. You can combine your visit in the winter with some Ice-skating at the lake right in Mora, (If the lakes are frozen enough. Just ask the locals!) and wander around in this cute and picturesque place! I was impressed by some of the paintings and the stories behind them, which you can see on the pictures.
