Hildegard: Order of the Profane Soul Blood Hunter

Not much is known about Hildegarde. All that is known is the obvious. She is a Giff, blood hunter. A battered Giff that somehow ended up in a seemingly untouched plasmoidian ship. A Giff with no recollection of where she is or how she got there, but still has an adamant urge to return back into the Astral Sea. Given that she is the Jellyjammer’s only lead on these mysteriously disappearing ships, they had to take her along. But can she really be trusted? How much of her story are truly forgotten memories or secrets held too tight the chest?

This is a poster I made months ago for an imaginary Spelljammers DnD campaign. As you can see, they are all Plasmoids. All of them except for a stray Giff blood hunter. I drew these to work on character silhouettes, shape language, and using colors to express personality. I may try redesigning them digitally. I remember being very proud of these designs when I made them. Especially how saturated the colors were. I mainly used a fairly cheap brand of alcohol marker for most of this. Here is the lore and character designs.

The lore behind this campaign is that Plasmoids ships are mysteriously going missing on their voyages. So the Plasmoids tribe leaders put together a team of “highly skilled” and “experienced” crewmates to investigate the missing ships and make amends with the nations that were expecting Plasmoidian goods. Right as the crew was being sworn in, a ship returned to the dock, seemingly untouched. The same couldn’t be said for the single unconscious Giff blood hunter left onboard. A Giff who is adamant on returning to the Astral Sea.
