Wintertime in Frankfurt am Main, Hesse, Germany
The pictures were taken at a height of 66 m after 328 steps. (St. Bartholomew's Emperor's Cathedral)
The skyline of Frankfurt am Main has earned the city the nickname Mainhattan. Since the opening of the Westend Gate in 1976, Frankfurt's tallest building has also been Germany's tallest building. The Messeturm was the tallest building in Europe at 257 metres until it was surpassed by the 259-metre Commerzbank Tower. In Frankfurt, 30 high-rise buildings currently (as of July 2014) reach a minimum height of 100 metres, five of which reach 200 metres. Others are under construction or at an advanced stage of planning. The second picture has its focus on the St. Paul’s church, where the first German Parlimanet met in 1848/1849 with 649 members.
