*Clutches heart as traitorous brain conjures an image of Witch/Wizard reader mentioning they were offered a job in the wizarding world and the family slowly realizing if they don’t act they will lose reader*
Fun angsty idea:

Wizard/Witch/Magical!BatSib!Reader pulling a Hermione on the family and wiping their memories of them.
Like, they were already the neglected and forgotten child, but now they are fully committing to a magical lifestyle and leaving non-magical life behind.
(Probably not what you had in mind. Sorry ‘bout that.)

It’s not necessarily you running away that’s the gut wrenching part. It’s the way you remove the trace memories. Not only from the manor, but from everyone’s mind. It takes true skill to be messing with Batman and his protégés memories.
But, then you see first hand just how little you take up their thoughts. Practically a blink and you’ll miss it moment. How quick it takes you to pull the memories and passing thoughts of you from their heads.
You don’t bother to look at them. You don’t want to see what they thought of you in those tiny little wisp.
It’s almost easy in the to transfigure your old bed room into a guest bedroom, completed with an authentic layer of light dust.
Cool washes over as you finish with Bruce. Your father. Standing behind him in the Batcave while he focuses on the monitor. By now you had mastered the memory charm. Silently casting it and pulling the wisp away before vanishing from their lives.
It’s a kindness you decide. Bruce hates magic, maybe even hated you. By removing yourself you free up his and the rest of the families thoughts, even if only by a small bit. It was for the best.
Or, it should have been.
Did you really think Bruce wouldn’t notice the faintest gap at some point? The man was too aware of himself. To trapped in his own head not to notice the small missing piece.
He may not have known the method, but he was livid at the audacity. His mind was his most powerful weapon, his most used tool. And, someone had tampered with it.
It doesn’t help that the added mystery to it further entices the family to discover what is happening. Further draws them to whatever they lost.
Really you should have known better.
You taking yourself away from them left them digging their fingers to that small little space. Stretching it wider and wider to figure out what used to fit in there. Like they were digging at a tiny cut and turning it into a weeping gash with their nails.
And, when they find out that it wasn’t anything malicious, that wasn’t an enemy trying to tear at their psyches? That instead it was just a lost forgotten child leaving them? Well, they have plenty of space made for you in the minds they tore apart searching for you.
How Bruce would despise the magic you do for taking you from him. How he would blame every book you read and every mentor you ever had for your erasure.
He’s a generous man. He really is. But, stealing yourself from him leaves him enraged.
But, not at you, baby. You just believed in a fairytale. It’s not your fault. He’ll bring you back to reality. They all will.

A/N—Let's not pretend I know what I'm doing. English is not my first language—
In a dimly lit room, overflown with dancing shadows, the familiar smell of old wood and dust surrounded the sight that for years to come would be engraved with fire on one's mind.
There, meticulously pinned against a soft, dark background, were framed on the wall the largest butterfly wings anyone could ever dream of ever seeing. As long and wide as a person would be tall, even after being torn off the intricate patterns and vibrant colors seemed to pulse an ethereal glow. Fine details such as delicate veins, shiny scales and subtle color gradients dancing between camouflaged yellows and greens were highlighted.
The tremor which ran through the ever growing-weaker body of staring eyes was nauseating. Each rib seemed to mock such dispossession, and a voice broken into muffled sobs. For these were not simply a pair of some insect's appendages stripped from any creature. What was once a part of one was now a dead trophy, motionless and grotesquely perfect.
How could anyone reduce something so alive and so sacred to this violation of all that's holy?
This was not admiration.
It was nothing but an insultingly brutal display of power by those who claimed to love her. The vivid portrait of the perfect family feet's away seemed as horrified as one felt, yet assuming it as a sign of any guilt would be foolish. They could be shocked to be found out. They could know but chose to ignore the abyss of emotions threatening to take consciousness away. Leaning before the frame as one's body was barely supporting the visceral reaction this evoked.
It had been so long since the last time someone claimed to understand. Them who avoided eye contact no longer knew of humanity and not because of the brutal act but because those who claimed to love her would see beauty where there was only mutilation.
A/N: Sorry y’all, I’ve been on a Harry Potter kick. I still jotting stuff down to write, but I’ve been trying to get my regular life off to a good start this year and been busy too!
But, I was thinking on WinxReader and playing with the idea of Witch/WizardReader too.
Reader being sent to a magical boarding school and being convinced Bruce set aside his distain for magic to be a loving father that cares about them.
Reader thanking him for doing such after they graduate. They didn’t bother to invite Bruce or the family because they understand magic makes everyone uncomfortable, but they profusely thank Bruce for being such a great dad.
Bruce putting away the Best Dad mug Dick got him and refilling his coffee in the Worst Dad mug Jason got him while adding liquor because he was such a neglectful parent he sent his kid to a damn magical boarding school. The shame. The guilt. The mixed feelings of having one of his kids thank him for something, only to realize it’s for something he despises.
And, that’s how he finds out one of his kids can do literal magic.
Not quite catching when did we turn into fairies from Winx but I'm all in for it.
Do we have the long ass transformation? If we do, how do the entire family act about it?
Kind of crazy but I can picture Reader just getting tired of having to wait and dance around (if they do have transformations) so instead just pulls out a gun, picks up a random object to use as weapon or starts fist fighting an enemy or sibling?
Like, yeah, Reader's overpowered if they're like the Winx. But 5 minutes of flashing lights and waddling on magic clothes? Nah uh
I like to think all the Villains and Rouges in Gotham would respect the long ass transformation sequence while the Batfam and other vigilantes would see it as impractical.

Duke to Winx!Reader before they’re about to bust up a crime ring: You should really transform before we go in.
Winx!Reader: Nah.
Winx!Reader pulls out gun: Jason gave me this and I wanna try it out.
Duke: …
Duke: Fucking Jason…

And, then they end up having damn good aim while Bruce just glares at a smug Jason when they all get back to the cave. (Making mental note that they can’t have a gun in containment either.)
ok magic reader (witch/wizard reader) just thanks bruce and its painful to bruce since bruce has to Lie since readers being innocent and oblivious clearly not seeing how much bruce hates the fact they know magic and the rest of the batfamily feeling the whiplash of the akward situation that reader does not see and then reader just flies of to work in magic world… jason is in pain from the akward interaction and bruce just looks like hes had enough… (would be Even better if the batfam fonds out that magic reader works with constantine a lot)
Oooo, Magic!Reader is John’s favorite Bat.
They use a completely different type of magic, but they just have the right vibes and John likes them.
Only, Bruce doesn’t find out about it until he needs Constantine’s help and then he’s like, hang on, let me call someone who can do this better than me a professional
Then Magic!Reader shows up.
Oooooo, make this post memory wipe and Magic!Reader is getting a shit ton of attention from the family because they feel drawn to Magic!Reader in a weird way. Making Magic!Reader panic because why the hell are y’all paying attention to me now? Where was this years ago?
And, Magic!Reader is like trying not to give anything away that they know the family. Because they will sniff that shit out like bloodhounds. (If Cass is there they’re fuuuucked.)
