Dragon’s Land PART 2/3
“What are you doing? Can you not see that the Prince is dancing with another girl? If you want to be his queen one day, you need to get moving!!”
“I know what I’m doing mother! Leave me alone!” exclaimed Diaspro.
“How can you be so ungrateful?” replied her mother. “Go dance with him” she added and pushed her daughter into the crowd.
Samara scanned them both and then looked at her husband. He did not seem to notice. There was nothing surprising in their behavior, but now that she saw her son and the fairy, she resented what could happen.
“You are feeling better?” Asked Sky in hushed tones.
“Not really…” Replied Bloom, still hiding in his neck. “I don’t want to let you go.”
“I know exactly what you mean, don’t worry.”
“Sky, I don’t think I-” Started Bloom but was cut off by someone.
“Prince Sky? You only made me dance once… You don’t expect me to dance on my own, do you?” Said Diaspro sweetly.
The couple stopped and looked defeated. Bloom only tighten her hold on his back. Sky would not utter a world. From the corner of his eyes, he could see his parents waiting for his reaction. He was once again trapped by his obligations. He breathed out heavily and looked down. His fairy did not miss his reaction.
Anger was once again building up inside her. She abruptly let him go and turned away.
“Don’t mind me. I would be out.” She said without looking back.
“Bloom, wait, don’t!” He tried to go after her but Diaspro gripped his arm.
“Can we dance now?”
“He looked back on were he last saw Bloom, but she was gone. He scanned the room, but the fairy was nowhere to be seen. Defeated, he nodded and led her to the dance floor.
“They both look perfect! I’m so proud of them!” Said Diaspro’s mother.
“Indeed” Exclaimed Erendor, proudly.
Outside of the ball room, Bloom was breathing the fresh air. The night was chill. She could not stop thinking about her conversation with the Prince. What was she supposed to do? Should she claim him more? Should she let him deal with the situation? Should she forget about him? This time, she could not stop her tears from falling. Her heart was about to blow.
Everything was simpler when his was Brandon and not Prince Sky of Heraclyon.
Suddenly, someone touched her shoulder, making her jump.
“Sorry, I did not want to startle you sweetheart.” Said a guy she did not recognize.
“Do I know you?” she asked while taking a step back.
“No, I’m Doradil. I saw you alone from the ball room and wondered what a beautiful girl like you was doing alone.” He explained.
“From the ball room?” She turned her head toward the doors.
“Yes, you can see the garden from the dancefloor.” He added.
“Oh, I see…” She fell silent, not knowing what to say.
“So, why are you alone?”
“I… Uhg… I’m sorry, why does it matter?”
“I’m sorry. I didn’t want to sound rude. I couldn’t stop myself, you are so pretty.”
Bloom looked at him. He seemed pretty full of himself. She would never tell him what happened. It was private. No one needed to know that she was in love with a man that was not really hers.
“Do you want to see something cool?”
“Hum? Like what?”
“A dragon!” He exclaimed.
“For real?”
“Yes!”
“I absolutely love dragons! Can you show it to me?”
“Of course, sweetheart!” He took her wrist.
“Follow me.”
Doradil was right, anyone could see the garden from the dancefloor. Sky did notice that element too. His eyes caught his fairy in a second. His hold on Diaspro tightened slightly when he saw Doradil talking with Bloom, leaning over her… He could not believe his eyes. Bloom was not pushing him away… She was talking to him. He knew the guy’s ways. He knew how he acted towards girls. He had heard him talking about his conquests more than once. His guts were telling him to drop Diaspro and his parents’ expectations and to storm out of the ball room to crack he boy’s neck. Then, he saw Bloom moving toward him happily. Doradil taking her hand and walking away from the garden. Sky felt sick. “It can’t be… No… Bloom would never fell into his trap…” he thought.
“Sky, I’m sorry, I need to take a break and freshen up. I would not be too long darling.”
The young specialist did not say anything. He smiled weakly and walked her out of the dancefloor. Once she was away, he walked out of the ball room. He looked frantic.
“It is marvelous Doradil!”
“You really like dragons, don’t you?”
“Let’s say that have my reasons…” explained Bloom. “You said it is a mountains dragon? How did it end up in Magix?”
“Hum, yes, it is! And I don’t really know that. They caught it a few days ago and kept it because it was injured. Now they are going to set it free after the party.”
“Brilliant!!” Exclaimed Bloom. “Look at its scales! They shine!”
“Your eyes are not so bad too. Did anyone ever tell you how cute you were?”
“Ugh?!” Once again, Bloom’s attention drifted from her thought to focus on the specialist. “Um, Doradil. I think we should go back to the party. It might not be safe.”
“Why are you talking about? Don’t you see I’m trying to help you? I’m giving you the opportunity of your life!!” Said Doradil while holding her jaw.
“What?”
“Kiss me and then you will be able to tell the world you have seen heavens!”

-SCLAFF-
“Did… Did you just slap me?”
“Yes, I did! Who do you think you are?!
Behind a pillar, Diaspro was watching them closely, phone in hand. She stood there waiting for the worst to happen. It would have been a great picture to show to Sky. He surely would have hated the girl, right?!
Desperate by Doradil lack of efficiency, she decided to handle the situation herself. She went out of her hiding spot, being instantly noticed by the two teenagers.
“Diaspro, did you see that? She slapped me. Me!! Doradil!”
“Get out of here, idiot! You can’t even handle a stupid fairy!”
Without hesitating a second, he ran away, holding his cheek.
“What? You planned that?” Interjected Bloom, furiously.
“I just did what was right, but it seems you are smarter than I thought.”
“Smarter?! You really think I would have kissed a random guy?”
“You tell me! Stilling guys doesn’t seem to be a problem for you…”
“What are you talking about?”
“As if you didn’t know that Sky was already taken… Such a liar!”
“What are you talking about?!”
“That is why you attacked me last year. You wanted to scare me off. Too bad for you, you got caught.”
“I did not even know who you were!”
“Yes, you are such an innocent fairy!”
“For Merlin’s Sake, I did not even know his real name! I thought he was Brandon!”
“That could fool others but not me. Even if he was hiding his real identity, he must have talked about me.”
“Sorry honey, but no, he never, ever mentioned a girl when we were together.”
“So what?!”
“So what, what?”
“Does it mean you have the right to steal him from me?”
“What do you think he is? Some kind of toy with your name on it?”
“How dare you talk about him that way! He is a prince.”
“Let me be clear here. He doesn’t love you. He doesn’t want you! All of this is making him feel miserable.”
“Then do something about it if you love him so much.”
“What do you want me to do?” replied Bloom. “I have no influence on him. I’m not his parents.”
“If making a choice between you and me is making him feel so miserable as you say, why don’t you make it easier for him and forget about him?” Suggested Diaspro. “You know just as much as me that if he is so unhappy, it is because he is including you into the equation. Without you, he wouldn’t have to be put under pression.”
“So you want me to surrender?”
“Finally you understand!”
In the garden, Doradil was walking off, still chocked by Bloom’s slap. He thought he was finally out of trouble when a hand reached for his shirt and violently threw him on a wall. He opened his eyes and discovered two deep blue eyes full of rage.
“Sky?!”
“For you it is your Highness, Lord Doradil!”
“My prince… I’m sorry. I-I” Stuttered the curly-haired boy.
“Where is my girlfriend?! WHAT DID YOU DO TO HER?!” Sky’s anger through him out of balance.
“I swear your Highness, I did not touch her in any appropriate way. It’s not me. It was all Diaspro’s idea. She asked me to talk to her. I swear on my father’s lands!”
“Diaspro?”
“Yes, when you were dancing with the famous fairy, she told me the girl asked her questions about me and the princess told me she was just nervous and send her friend to me.”
“Diaspro is not Bloom’s friend.”
“I didn’t know… They are talking right now.”
“Where?” Asked Sky while shaking the boy.
Whether it was Bloom and Diaspro or Sky and Doradil; none were aware of the woman watching them from a balcony. Samara was astonished by Diaspro’s hatred and Sky’s rage. She always knew Doradil as a weak and idiot boy. But it was Bloom’s passion and smartness that impressed her the most. The fairy knew how to keep her cool and handle her emotions. Her head was high and her eyes fierce. She was not fazed by Diaspro’s output, not even a bit. The more she observed her, the more she understood her son’s felling for the girl. Indeed, she was different from others. More mature, fierce and intelligent.
Back to the two girls, Bloom was not backing down even if Diaspro’s words were hurting her like knifes. What she was saying was not totally stupid. Bloom would be lying if she said she hadn’t thought about leaving Sky. However, she would never admit that to the princess.
“Sky is confused right know. Someone needs to make decisions for him.” Declared Diaspro.
“Do you realize how horrible what you are saying is?!” Said Bloom, flabbergasted by her words. “Everybody is different. You need to accept that! I do not care about his title or how rich he is! All I care about is the guy he tries to be. The kind boy that love going out with his friends and is passioned about sports and magic literature. The boy who loves dearly but never forgets. The boy who supported me when no one would. The boy who hold me crying in his arms when I learnt I was adopted. The boy who protected me from people’s gossips when I was in danger. The boy who trusted me enough to break the rules and risk his life.”
There was a moment of silence. Diaspro was still trying to understand each information. Samara, still on her balcony, was astonished. She could not even utter a word.
Diaspro, finally understanding the connection between her love and the fairy, felt anger win over her.
“Enough is enough!! Back off or you will have to deal with me! Believe me, I will make sure you remember who I’m!!”
“Try me.” said Bloom, unimpressed.
In a second, Diaspro was transformed into a fairy, ready to shoot Bloom. Bloom did not even bother. She was still standing straight, her arms crossed on her chest, eyes closed.
“Surrender already!” Screamed Diaspro while she was getting ready to shoot a powerful spell at Bloom.
Bloom opened her eyes, looking right at her. “You are being ridiculous.”
“Me? You are the one trying to still him from me!” Replied Diaspro.
“As if!”
Having enough, Diaspro finally released her spell. Light came out of the spell and lightened the whole garden.
Still in a corridor, Sky got distracted by the light and freed Doradil from his grip.
“What was that?” Sky wondered.
On her balcony, Samara’s eyes grew bigger. She could not believe Diaspro would attack someone that way. But it was just starting. She was about to shout for help when a powerful sound of iron being broken resonated in the garden.
Then, a ferocious roar followed.
Bloom had dodged the spell, but it had landed on the lock which was keeping the dragon locked up in its cage.
“No! Oh my Lord!” Cried Bloom when the creature escaped and went toward her.
In the corridor, both boys looked at each other.
“The dragon…” said Doradil.
Sky eyed him for a second before realizing what the other boy meant. Then, a scream. Another one… The second one he recognized as his mother’s.
“NO!” he screamed and ran toward the garden.
