Cross geeking alert! As all of you in my small and somewhat dedicated audience already know, i have a serious Lego prob....eh....fascination. What you may not know, is that i’ve been a ‘yuuuuge fan of the futuristic Wipeout combat racing games since the first game was launched on the PS1. We’re talking ‘95 here now, and even if the gaming industry has made quantum leaps since then in what’s possible to present to the player, technology wise, the core of what Wipeout is, is still the same. Unrelenting pace, a futuristic feel, a distinctive visual image and cutting edge electronic music are still what makes the game and sets it apart. So when lego launched it’s Rally Car (42077) i thought i should give it different stickers, as a smalll homage to the game series, and contacted decal designer Molnár, to see if he was up to it. He thought it was a cool idea, and after a small introduction to Wipeout, he came up with some ideas. Together we settled on this little scheme here, that in my eyes makes this lego model just right. 😌 thank you so much, Molnar.
