i wonder what idris elba would have looked like on my living room tv in 2002 because in the hi def remaster he is so ludicrously beautiful it looks a bit silly. he doesn't blend into any environment he's in because he's like orders of magnitude more stunning than anyone else around him. it's like he emits a light of some sort. the only feature anyone uses to describe him if they're looking for him is "tall", which is crazy because the fastest way to find that man in any room would be to specify "tall and handsome". you could be anywhere and if you asked someone to point you towards like "did you see a handsome guy come in here?" they'd instantly know they'd be like you you're looking for stringer. are you a cop?

an utterly insane thing about the wire season 2 is that multiple characters have referred to 9/11 not as "nine eleven" but as "nine one one"

is that a regional thing? i have never heard a single person irl or on tv or anything prnounce the number individually like the u.s. emergency services line instead of like the date

i did finish s4 btw and it was great and the school plotline was incredible but idk if i have another stringer-and-avonless season in me. ....where is my sloppy divorce

i finished the wire s4 last night so im switching back over to succ s3 and holy ducking shit episode 3 is already too much. this is already too much. im too high for this (took a gummy 1 minute ago and is not feeling it yet). this is too crazy. i'm just really happy in my headspace. and i hope they're happy in theirs. this is too much. im losing it.

this is by no means a problem unique to the wire it is actually pretty ubiquitous in media in general but it really bothers me how cishet male writers will always have their underwritten dyke characters feel sooooo charmed by their male colleagues' incessant sexual advances. it's so cute when My Boys look at me like a carcass on a hook tee hee!! but they know to behave themselves because they know i like giiiiiiirls. it's so flattering how they drool over me!! male attention is so rewarding!!! i loooove being a lesbian who straight men find desirable!! being desired by men is something that all women regardless of their sexuality or their priorities in life will prize above all else. i looooove being a dyke in a hypermasculine environment because i loooove being reminded that i am straight passing and still have intrinsic value on the heterosexual marketplace. yaaaaaaay!! these ugly dudes all wanna fuck me!! that's the only reason i get up in the morning tbqhwu!! =D
