It’s taken me a little longer to post this than I’d have liked but i needed to recover from the whirlwind, and awesome experience of puppet making at Aardman animation in Bristol.
They were offering a puppet making class and there were such amazing people to learn with and learn from. I am grateful I got the oppprtunity to experience puppet making with Aardman animations puppet program. Thank you to Aardman for putting together an inspiring class with a passionate community of teachers and students.
This is the puppet I built, a wire frame armature with foam coring, press molded paddle hands, and hand stitched clothing, the eyes were already made but I’m sure if someone wanted to find some like that it’d be relatively easy.
The puppets name is newton and he is a librarian.hopefully I’ll get to animate him in a small gag or something but for now he’s done because while I loved puppet making my passion is drawing... so without further ado I will return to the drawing board. (Haha, puns)
Also, The hand has fallen off and a leg broke on the way back but no worries there because now I know how to put him back together.
