To some, this is a bracelet, shiny and new. But to me, it's so much more. Given to me by my #tramp 's union brother, Paul Thibault, this represents an understanding. An understanding of my side of Danny's tramping, of years of keeping the home fires burning while Danny and the other #wiremen build our country, the missed family milestones and events, the recessions when the work is scarce and the booms when my house fills with strangers from all over the country, for the seasoned union wives that taught me how to do this and the new wives I will teach, speaking a language few understand and few even want to. And, lucky for me, I ventured into this world, finding my career in construction after all these years. And I get to take all that my family knows, all I was taught in grad school and of course, all of the knowledge I've gotten at the feet of some of the greatest #journeymanwiremen ever to have laced up their boots and use it to support my family, provide support a company who shares my values and keep the men and women in the field safe and whole. And I love it. Then, I get this gift. And I'm moved to tears. I can't thank Paul enough for this treasure. It means the world to me because it represents my world to me. This #trampwife life is different. And probably not understood by many. But, so worth it. Every. Single. Stories from the "Yard"

-At work today I bugged one of the foremen about getting an extension cord fixed.  IDK the cord needed a new receptacle attached because it became separated or broke off?  Anyway me and the foremen are chatting and he "fixes" the cord.  It hardly takes me five seconds to realize he messed up.  Instead of a new receptacle he attached another pronged end to the cord.  And I giddily grabbed both the pronged ends and started pressing and interlocking them against each other and the foremen snaps something like, "Stop trying to make them mate!"  Seriously look at the end of an electrical cord and an electrical outlet and tell me the "outlet" doesn't have some genital similarity to certain female parts and the electrical "plug" doesn't resemble a guy's junk (especially if it has three prongs).

-This was a week back I believe.  One of my co-workers starting talking about his dating life and how this one girl was "too thick" for him and on and on and on about how he usually goes out with women who are a size 4, etc, etc.  So I finally decided to say something and boy did I stir some shit up because everyone was laughing their ass off.  "Have you looked in the mirror lately!?"  The irony and why this is funny (and sad) is this co-worker is heavy set.  Who is he to put someone down and refer to them as "too thick" when he's not exactly the men's equivalent of a size 4.
