Ok, I'm posting this super super late, but Bear and I got to go hang out with @wisconsinratpack like a week ago, and as always it was an absolute blessing. I'd have never expected Bear's best doggie friends to be rat terriers, but he adores them. He also adores his Auntie Sara!

I had no idea that people poopoo'd them; labradoodles are my bf's favourite breed, because his family's labradoodle is the most loyal dog he's ever known.
oh duuude. you wouldn’t believe the amount of people that hate doodles. it usually comes from a lot of breed snobs/elitists who think crossing breeds is a horrible idea. but also like @saraplaintall / @wisconsinratpack said it’s mostly the Doodle People™ that everyone hates.... aka the people the go out get a batshit crazy, poorly bred, BYB/Craigslist doodle on a whim, don’t train it, don’t brush/groom it, and expect it to be the Perfect Couch Potato Family Pet™ bc it’s cute and that’s what their friend’s brother’s cousin’s uncle’s wife said. :’))))
We had an adventure with @wisconsinratpack today! Bear thought the whole "horses" idea was great until I actually let him meet one. Then we said no thanks, those are officially too large to be friends.
saraplaintall: Nail trimming and feet handling. So not necessarily the trimming but how to get to that safely. Also, different surfaces to get used to, stairs, and water
Yeah that’s something I definitely emphasize, especially after having worked in a grooming salon and dealing with so many dogs who are AWFUL for getting their nails trimmed! We do a whole class where we do a mock vet exam; we put the pups on a table (they’re held of course so they can’t jump off) and poke and prod them, look in their ears, play with their toes, etc. to show the owners what they should be doing at home as far as handling exercises go.
