So I’ve been working 630 am shifts on weekends, and yes they’re hell but, it’s money. Anyway

There are always my three regulars sitting in the first two booths when I walk in. And they inadvertently get to know a lot about my life because they are the only people in the restaurant. So they know when I go out, how I like my coffee, and so forth from seeing me every weekend.

Today I came in as usual, greeted them, and started doing my routine of bakery help and whatnot and then they called me over. They said “you haven’t smiled like that all summer. Someone did something right for you last night”

My friends and I went to a local pizza place today, and an old man walked by us. He stopped, like he forgot something, turned around, and said, "You gotta watch...what you're not watching." This said, he turned and continued walking like nothing had happened.

It was a few minutes later before we realized that old man had stolen a slice of our pizza.
