"I don't think it has anything to do with trust. People want to live forever and look youthful because they are afraid of missing out and afraid of what might come after death." Or at least that seemed to be the general reasons for it. Some wanted it for other reasons, selfless reasons, and they were the one who might actually achieve it.

Probably some childhood shenanigan his brother tried on him when they were alone. Or maybe something his nephews did when they were still young children.

There are plenty of things that has happened to him where other have laughed, but he hasn't found it amusing at all (like getting his beard forcefully shaved twice, things I'll personally never find amusing, to me it's a kind of physical assault).

Hmm... though there was this one time when one of the bunnies found its way into the class room and proceeded to get into Lan Qiren's lap to sleep. He let it and his students found that amusing, as did he, even if he didn't show it.
