Pupils take to the Radio
Pupils from St Peter’s High School and Abraham Guest Academy have joined forces with West Lancashire College for a once in a lifetime opportunity to produce and create their very own radio advert.
In association with Wish FM, the local radio station invited two groups of pupils from the schools to join the creative team for a day of radio production. The pupils produced an advert for West Lancashire College from scratch; they wrote the script as a group, recorded the advert and chose the music and style for the 30 second long advert.
St. Peter’s pupil Robert Jones said “It’s been a new experience being at Wish FM. I didn’t realise how much work goes into producing a short advert, it’s been great being creative and being able to produce our advert from start to finish.”
The pupils were joined by Wish FM creative team members and West Lancashire College staff.
Marie Ratcliffe, Vocational Manager at Abraham Guest said “The pupils really enjoyed their day at Wish FM. It has opened their eyes to the sort of creative careers they could go on to do.”
The advert is live now on Wish FM and features both St. Peter’s and Abraham Guest Academy pupils throughout.
