Some days Tsuki wondered why she applied to work at a maid cafe. It was a little embarrassing, as much as she loved the aesthetic. She loved her job, though - truly. But sometimes it got too busy and it was a bit overwhelming. Not to mention some of the patrons could be a little creepy. She could handle the flirting, it was to be expected of course.

But today it was a bit more than that, and something Tsuki was not prepared for.

An overly flirty customer had waited around for her to finish her shift that night, approaching the young woman after she left the building and insisting she let him take her on a date.

“Oh, that’s very sweet of you, but I’ll have to politely decline.” she told him with a nervous smile, not really sure what to do about the situation. She had walked to work, and she was anxious thinking he might try to follow her home.

『 Well, I believe this one seems pretty unpopular, but I do believe that Shu was, in a way, just as mean and salty as Reiji when he was a child. So, first things first, I believe this should be addressed, but Shu started to act cold towards Reiji first, and only then did Reiji reciprocate those feelings. This is meant to be only an opinion post, but I bring evidence, like in Reiji’s Vampire Ending in MB, where he says this:

Back then, he still hadn’t started being petty and mean towards Shu, and he showed genuine hurt while talking about his older brother being cold towards him, about Shu being cold towards him and not trusting him, even when he was simply trying to help:

We also see that in the violin scene, Shu shows once again that he doesn’t trust Reiji, and makes that very clear to him, by ignoring his words and continuing to think his younger brother was the one that broke the violin (even when he wasn’t):

In that scene, he had already started to dislike his older brother back, but that’s not the point. What matters is that it’s clear Shu showed signs of not being too fond of Reiji first, and only then did Reiji began not liking Shu, as a defense mechanism to protect himself from the hurt and the pain that came with being lonely and disliked by his family:

See? First he berates himself, then he activates his defense mechanism to protect his mind from the loneliness he feels. As one last piece of evidence, and before anyone comments saying Reiji isn’t lonely as a child:

So, I rest my case on how I see Shu as someone that can be cold and act superior towards others, especially towards his younger brother back then. Because he’s not innocent in all of this, but many people seem to forget that. I’m not saying you can’t like Shu, I like him, but just don’t treat him as this victim of big, bad wolf Reiji, this angel that got hated when he did nothing wrong. You can like characters that have done things wrong, that have acted wrong, just like them for who they are, and not for what you want to see them as. 』

The shadow had a voice. A bit formal, slightly cold, but sill polite. Sonia had quite a bit of experience making friends with even the most hesitant of acquaintances. She never took it to heart when they could not trust her outright, likely due to past experiences of pain and betrayal. But the Princess simply continued to smile, offer kindness, and reasons why the world wasn't such a cruel place. Smiling and setting her phone back into her bag, she shifted her weight on the barstool to turn to the man who'd addressed her.

She'd planned to form a greeting as soon as she gave him her full undivided attention. But for a moment Sonia could only look. A stare would have implied a harsher expression, something judgmental and stern. Instead, blue eyes gazed over his sandy-colored hair, green eyes hidden behind rectangular frames, and features that both didn't seem too eager or able to recognize her. If she had to guess, he was likely a few years older than she was but nothing too substantial a difference. The friendship making service had indicated that they'd only match her with people with similar interests or complimentary personality traits, and hopefully that meant someone who wouldn't make a scene when her true identity had to be revealed. Her blue eyes sparkled, just a bit, as she smiled up at the newcomer.

"I am," She nodded, making sure to speak in her best Japanese. It was often the assumption that foreigners required English to get around Tokyo, and she didn't want to put her new acquaintance off. Most Japanese received some education in English in school, but nothing beyond basic conversational phrases, intending to make doing business easier later in life. "My name is Sonia, it's lovely to meet you!"

It was refreshing, the first time since high school that she'd gone by first name alone in Japan. It was always 'Princess' this and 'Your Highness' that, as if the world had forgotten that there was a person who wore the crown. She extended one slender hand towards him to shake before glancing over to the empty stool beside her and back at him, her smile never leaving her face.

"Would you like to sit at the bar or would you care for a table? I'm perfectly fine with either."

Blue eyes stared nervously in the blonde’s direction, as Lenny made her way over to her classmate. Lenny didn’t know Rosalind very well. They had a few classes together, but this would be the first time Lenny was ever speaking to her. The students were about to start projects for history class and the teacher had told them they could pick a partner. For the project they got to pick any country they wanted in the world and then they got to collect information on the country. Then they got to pick a creative way to display the information for the class to see. Lenny didn’t know many people in the class that she thought would be interested in working with her - most people tended to turn her down - so she thought she’d try and work with somebody new.

“Ex-Excuse m-me? I w-was wondering if you w-wanted t-to --- to b-be p-partners for our pr-project?”she asked, hopefully. The blonde shifted her binder and books awkwardly in her arms. “I underst-stand if you already h-have one, I --- I j-just th-thought I’d ask.”

It was always so serene here in the no-so-secret secret garden in Skyhold.

Quietly tending to some Royal Elfroot for a specific spell, Maeralya jumped when there was a scuffle between a Templar and a woman, presumably a mage from the way the Templar spoke to her.

“What’s going on here?” she asked, startling the Templar out of his heavy armor.

“N-Nothing your Worship. I was just trying to warn this mage.”

Maeralya glanced at the woman and tilted her head. “Is this true?” she asked, red hair flowing in the breeze. “Was he trying to warn you? Or was it a warning about himself?”

Annaleigh had just worked a double shift. A late night shift was had at the bar followed by an early morning shift three hours later at the dinner. She was hangry and exhausted - wanting to do nothing more than nap and eat. However, she couldn’t go to sleep - not yet. She needed to stop and get something to eat first - which meant taking the dreaded bus to get to where she needed to go.

She stepped up onto the bus, handing a wad of cash to the driver. Then Annaleigh walked down the isle, looking for a place to sit. It seemed most of the seats were filled. The woman stopped in front of a seat that had a blonde woman sitting in it with plenty of space for another person. “Excuse me, do you mind if I sit here?”she asked, voice filled with tiredness.

Tsuki gave him a puzzled look as she came to stop at a crosswalk around the corner from the cafe, having just got off work. Was he waiting here for her?

Had she been that obvious? She was surprised Ikki had picked up on it, considering other things he failed to pick up on for...how many years?

It had been a particularly rough day emotionally. It seemed more girls came in thirsting after Ikki than usual. It wasn’t easy having an unrequited childhood crush on your best friend’s older brother.

Did Shin say something? He was too perceptive.. It was kind of scary.

“What do you mean emergency plans? Is Ichiko going to be there?”
