For WishinWell it's a stupid depressive thought that things can't be changed and our time on this planet is utterly worthless. Hence the song with it's staccato bassline and it's long crescendo; as we fight our demons we feel stronger, we find a meaning, we are empowered. As the song grows with it's 80's lead sounds, bass music groove and glitch trickery the lyrics get more and more defiant but then it all drops off. "Intruder" is the first offering from the upcoming EP that's heavily inspired by reggae, garage, trap and the classic dubstep sound.
Fee Freddy - All Ricerca Della Felicità (WishinWell Remix)
I have been working like a dog for the past week (Well if a dog worked nights in a supermarket and spent his days moving the contents of a football pitched size warehouse to a dump) But we are here to bring you the WishinWell remix of Fee Freddy's latest track. Its being released by Oyez! and quickly racking up youtube views. Its really good to see WishinWell grow as a producer and his work is getting better by the track.

AOTW - WishinWell.
As with all of our Artists Of The Week, we have given WishinWell the Bottletops treatment. Check it out.
How did you get into music production? My dad has a small home studio and it was my favourite room in the house for a long time; when I was two I would build a small Revox (a 2-track tape recorder) out of my building blocks, so I think it's fair to say that I've always been obsessed with it. I was never a proficient musician so I always worked with other more experience producers and focused on song writing. It's only been two years, really, since I decided to try and do things all by myself; I still feel like I'm a student, though, so I read loads of tutorials and books on the subject.
You are headlining a festival, who are the 3 acts you would put on before you?
It would probably be Blur, OutKast and Massive Attack. I would be ashamed to play after them, though... Perfect afternoon. Honestly... it's just me, Logic Pro 9, cider and hopefully the phone doesn't ring. Favorite cocktail? Rum & Coke, with no ice and no coke. Plans for the future? I'm trying to reach a bigger audience especially here in Italy so I'm working on some remixes; I had never remixed someone elses's material before and I'm really enjoying it! I'm also setting up a dj set with my mate Metalf; we are planning to start getting some gigs in 2012 (check out my FB page, you never know we might end up somewhere near you - http://www.facebook.com/wishinwellmusic). If you wanna know what we play check out my blog at wish-well.com. I have a second EP already written; I will get it mixed soon and you'll be hearing a lot more stuff next year.
As i'm sure you all know, WishinWell is a regular contributor to Bottletops. So we'll let you know all of his plans.

AOTW - WishinWell.
Nearly everyday i get a new update or file in my dropbox from WishinWell regarding new tracks, the man lives and breaths music. His debut EP Not Easy is available on itunes and is a great example of a producer who is willing to dip his toes into so many genres. Whilst listening to the 4 track release you can hear these influences, Not Easy is James Blake and post dubstep esque, where as Tie My Hands features an African loop and drum beat that is screaming out for a live drummer.
Italian electronic music is on the way up and producers such as WishinWell and Metalf are contributing to it. Keep it locked in all week, i'll bring you more info and tracks, but here's my favorite so far:

16Bit - Dinosaurs
These are exciting times, which is just as well seem as Bottletops is only as good as the music it serves. It has to be said that once upon a time there used to be one important release a week and you could talk about it with your mates for about a week evaluating it's strenghs and it's flaws; nowadays I count about 6 to 10 releases a day on Digital Tunes (http://www.digital-tunes.net/), and I'm only talking about the Dubstep & Grime section. And let's been honest it's not all Belgian Chocolate; most of it only has only the same shade of brown but it ain't no brownie! So you can forgive us if sometimes something slips under the radar. But this is a double crime: not only we didn't warn you when the song was released (the blog might I have not been created yet...) but we didn't post this little bit of visual candy. So here it is, in all it's glory: "Dinosaurs" by 16Bit.
WW Ps: 16Bit will be djing at Fabric in London next month. If you wanna see how Stix & WishinWell rock, be there! Ps2: WishinWell first EP is very nearly ready for release. You hear it here first.
