SBTRKT feat. Sampha - Living Like I Do (Lil Silva Remix)
Everything SBTRKT produces is gold, so what happened when Lil Silva got his hands onLiving Like I Do?Platinum...(I think that metal is better than gold, a quick Wikipedia has supported this)
Absolute brilliance.

Netsky - Give & Take
I have been looking forward to new stuff from Netsky for what seems like an enternity. Everyone at Hospital Records is really excited about the Austrian producer's new album and this track has been shared by almost every DJ over the last few days and its a banger.

Rusko - Somebody To Love (Official Music Video)
It seems like this Rusko track has been around forever, i think MistaJam debuted it back in sunny August. Rusko doesn't get a huge amount of credit in the UK, but music has always been at the forefront of Electronic music. So here is the video to Somebody To Love!

AOTW - Mako
As i'm sure you all know this weeks artist in the spotlight is Mako, as usual we have given him an in depth interview:
How did you first become interested in music production?
I'd been DJing since the age of 15 and have always played instruments, as I got further into music when I went to Uni in Manchester it felt like a natural progression to start making my own tracks. The feel of making a big system quake by your own design is quite something!
First show?
I think my first actual show was for a 6th form party where I arranged a set up with some friends and played most of the night, it was great fun and just made me want to do it more. Moving to Manchester was definitely helpful as it has a great scene and I got straight into it, first time on a flyer was for a long running night hit n run supporting Bryan G which was a buzz. Thanks to the promoter/DJ Rich Reason for having some faith to put me on a few times!
Best pub/club in your local area?
It's a bit difficult to answer that at the moment as I've been moving around so much and so many places have changed or closed, living in Leeds it was the West Indian Centre in Chapeltown but that's sadly been affected by noise complaints. For Manchester I'd probably say the Roadhouse as a long standing venue with some good nights, my boys run a night called Swing Ting at a spot called the Soup Kitchen too which has recently opened a basement room which is pretty cool. Yet to check a few places that have opened while I've been away, been meaning to get to Band On The Wall where they run a Solution night and Mr Scruff holds his keep it unreal nights.
What do you need to get you through a night of production?
Used to be a big bag of weed and plenty tea but have tried to curtail that in recent times. It's now just about having the time away from work and the energy to put into it.
You are heading Glastonbury, what 3 acts would you have supporting you?
Well now, this is certainly a dream question as I'm more thinking about who I'd like to support but I'd get my boys Samrai and Platt (Swing Ting) b2b, The Heatwave and Afrika Hi-Tech.
One piece of equipment/software you couldn't live without?
Would have to be my Mac! without that I'd have bugger all. Monitors and my Apogee Duet come a close second.
Plans for 2012?
Just keep bashing away, got a couple of releases in the pipeline with some netlabels and I'm working towards a vinyl at some point just still trying to raise my profile. Still learning too and trying out some different styles so just keeping on with that and making sure I keep having fun with it when I can.

Die & Break feat MC Fats and Buggsy - Peace & Dub ( Grand Funk Hustle EP )
Buggsy has lead me to this track. Since listening to Joker's debut album The Vision the Bristolian MC has quickly crept up my list of up and coming artists. Dub Step has taken over the air waves and people have quickly forgotten what dub is (I won't bother going into a Cher Lloyd attack) Here is the genre at its best, absolutely incredible, Digital Soundboy are doing big things.

Arctic Monkeys - Black Treacle
As the music industry evolves we are going to see less and less bands. Arctic Monkeys did so much for music as we know it and they are arguably the only guitar band to stay relevant and fresh through over the past 5 years and Suck it and See was no different. The Sheffield outfits latest offering is Black Treacle and the visual is exactly what i'd expect, latex, a runaway bride and a jail break!

AOTW - Mako
Its been a few weeks since our last artist of the week but we are back and this week featuring producer Mako, who's excellent debut EP Movement was recommended to me last month. So keep locked in, we'll bring you an interview and loads of info from Mako. Here's the title track from his EP to get your mouth watering.

Jay-Z ft. Blue Ivy Carter – “Glory”
As you all know arguably the luckiest baby of the year has been born and the arrival of Blue Ivy Carter has not only turned the Empire State Building blue, but lead to Jay-Z releasing a track in dedication to his daughter. Song Cry and Lost One are two of of my favorite Jigga tracks, so its no surprise I'm feeling Glory.

SBTRKT - Hold On
This song has recently been added to the Radio 1 daytime playlist much to my delight and since then I have rekindled by love for SBTRKT and their self titled album. Here is Hold On as a reminder of what the London based producer is capable of.

Youngman - Who Knows?
Christ i have over induldged, i have eaten and drunk enough to feed an Eastern European family for a year, but i guess that is what the festive period is all about. There's just the new year blowout before we all decide that 2012 will be a healthy year and we'll have a body worthy of a health magazine. I on the other hand am planning to celebrate New Year a week later at Hospitality, Fabric, so will delay the bullshit for a week or so.
One track i have been loving for the past few months is Youngman's Who Knows. The original Skream track now seems extremely bare without vocals and i think all the bad reviews the track is getting are undeserved. Here's the visual.

Fee Freddy - All Ricerca Della Felicità (WishinWell Remix)
I have been working like a dog for the past week (Well if a dog worked nights in a supermarket and spent his days moving the contents of a football pitched size warehouse to a dump) But we are here to bring you the WishinWell remix of Fee Freddy's latest track. Its being released by Oyez! and quickly racking up youtube views. Its really good to see WishinWell grow as a producer and his work is getting better by the track.

James Blake - A Case of You
James Blake's Enough Thunder blew my mind after i wasn't overly impressed by his self titled debut album. I enjoyed every track from his latest EP, but Not Long Now and A Case Of You were by far my favorite tracks and the beautiful Rebecca Hall's performance throughout the video is breathtaking.

PHLO FINISTER - "SHADES"
Crown Gold has taken over from Frank Ocean's Nostalgia as my most listened r&b mixtape this month. The visual for Shades dropped last week and although the track and visual are extremely Aaliyah like, you can't take away that Phlo Finister is one to watch.

AOTW - Irrelevant
As always we try and find out a bit more about our Artists Of The Week and as you all know, this week its Irrelevant.
How did you first get involved in production?
I think I've said before that I forced myself into production to begin with, i used to try and make house music because that's what I was playing out at the time but I never really connected with it in a production sense. It wasn't until I started making music as Irrelevant that I really felt an affinity with what I was doing in the studio.
You are headlining a festival, who are the 3 acts you would have supporting you?
Crystal Castles
John Peel
My Pal (a friend from my hometown and probably the most gifted dj I've ever seen)
Perfect afternoon?
Chilling out with friends, listening to/debating music
Favorite cocktail?
I don't drink so it's diet coke all the way
Plans For The Future?
More releases on Kokeshi in 2012, hopefully some gigs and finally movin out of home with my fiancée.
Although we don't usually associate with teetotalers we'll make an exception for this artist and its always really great to know artists influences.
If you want to check out more from Irrelevant and Kokeshi Music they will be taking over room 3 at Fabric on January 27th. Make sure you're there.

Dub Phizix and Skeptical feat Strategy - Marka
When we say 'Too Much Music, Not Enough Ears' we mean it. After getting home from work at half 11 i have about 25 music videos and 50 Soundclouds to check out and I always miss something. This Dub Phizix track is one of those, it got missed last week. So here it is:

Lana Del Rey - Born To Die (Official Video)
So Ms Del Rey's camp posted her latest visual this afternoon and the blogging world has gone crazy. I know i wont be the first or the last person to post Born To Die, but Lana, or Lizzie (You chose) has turned out to be a sensation. When I saw her live last month you could feel the anticipation for something new, something fresh. The music industry moves at a million miles an hour and It will only take a couple of months before she is categorized and it is considered 'uncool' for me to post her work. Us music fans are incredibley fickle, but i really do hope to never forget how aboslutely mindblown i was when i first heard Video Games in August 2011.
