#OnThisDay July 4, 1992 @TheCure @dinosaurjr & @thecranesmusic performed at Spartan Stadium (CEFCU Stadium) at @sjsu for the #WishTour. It was a great show, but I was kinda disappointed that 10:15, “Play For Today” and “Killing An Arab” was off the set list, but looking at the set list now, there was a good chunk of 1st four album material during the encore. One moment was Dinosaur Jr performing their cover of “ Just Like Heaven, then hours later Robert Smith on stage mentioning to the San Jose crowd, “This song is by Dinosaur Jr, it’s called Just Like Heaven! “. It came at a time when the post punk headliners like The Cure, Depeche Mode and New Order stopped performing at sheds and now into bigger arenas and stadiums while the surge of grunge and alternative acts were quickly taking over those venues too.
