Life happenings.

So I've been accepted as an online student by Western Iowa Tech Community College. I wanted to go to school for molecular biology to go into the field of genetic engineering, but I also want a farm some day. I am torn between which field to pursue first, but I'll figure it out... Just to clear up my opinion on genetic engineering, I feel that Monsanto abuses the technology by using the Bt Gene to make their crops resistant to their chemical poisons, which I feel is wrong. We should be using organic methods for sustainable farming and if we use genetic engineering, it should be to improve flavor, nutrition, environmental compatibility, and/or aesthetics. It could even be used to create biological artworks, but it should never be used to help justify higher levels of toxins in our environment. In addition, many biotech firms, but especially Monsanto, copyright living things and parts of living things, and I feel that is immoral and abhorrent.
