Finally got a couple base coats on these guys. I find the smaller, more intricate models tedious so it takes me some effort to get them done. Decided I'd better get one army finished rather than forever jumping between painting projects - shooting for my 2k DoK list by end of year!

I finished up Morgwaeth's Blade-coven this week and I’m super happy with the results. I’ve recently pushed myself to start doing detailed eyes and facial highlights, and I think these models show that off really well. I also worked with my husband to do a kit-bash on the lady with the whip so that she had a normal witchaelf head rather than a scary mask. We made the neck from scratch, which I’m super happy with.
Enjoy!

BIO
Sestia was born into the Khainite orders of the Khar Telva Temple in the Freeport of Keendagger. She was raised from her youth to revere the Aelven Murder-God, serving in both the temple halls and the fighting pits of her order. She proved herself both an able fighter and orator, rising to the ranks of the Witch Aelves where she met her two lifelong companions - The twins Sylana and Ysella.
The trio formed a bond, swearing to assist one another in climbing the ranks of Khar Telva by any means necessary. Through a combination of fighting ability, guile, political maneuvering and outright assassination, Sestia found herself elevated to the position of Priestess-General. With Sylana and Ysella taking their places as The Chief Priestesses of the Blessed Elixirs, the three had taken a commanding presence within not only the Freeport, but the Daughters of Khaine itself.
Sestia is unorthodox in her belief, in that she espouses reverence of Morathi. While publically she pays worship to Khaine, the Priestess-General pays her true homage to the High Oracle. She refers to Morathi as The Mother Of Shadows, the true power behind the Daughters of Khaine.
It is said that Sestia Bloodsinger has fallen in battle before, perhaps many times. Whether these are mere rumors passed through the friends an enemies of Khar Telva, or actual accounts are unknown - as is the Priestess-General’s age. All that is known that when her armies suffer defeat, Sestia is attended by the twin Hag Queens, and a young Witch Aelf is invited into the most private of inner sanctums, never to return. Some suspect that such is the Twin Priestesses’ devotion to Sestia, that they have devised dark ritual or eldritch elixir that can conquer even the power of the deathlord Nagash himself…
Witch Aelves - Temple Daughters of Khar Telva
Work on my 1000pt Daughters of Khaine list for the Adepticon Team Tournament has been fruitful - I’ve finished 30 of 60 Witch Aelves that’ll be taking the field there! I wanted to do something other than paint skin endlessly, so I went with a color scheme in no small part inspired by Sylvanas Windrunner. :P
In terms of Age of Sigmar lore, I like to think that they come from an area of Ulgu (The Outer Tenebrous) where the winds of magic have turned the denizens’ skin blue. Perhaps just Aelves, but maybe there’s some blue-skinned Humans and Duardin in the city of Keendagger?
Very happy with the scheme and especially with how the skin turned out!
Some new daugthers of Khaine.
