god forbid any community is majority women, because every single time the men of that community will say "men can be (x) too! men are so underrepresented!"
i think being overrepresented in every other part of society is enough brad
I hate how ceremonial magick has become so intertwined with self-help culture and internet "optimization" bullshit, because there is so much amazing tradition to pull and learn from
But ceremonial magick feels so off-putting to many of us, especially if you're disabled, because of headass ceremonial magicians who swear that eating sugar "lowers your vibrations" or some shit
Marginalized witches need to reclaim the beauty of ceremonial magick and reform it, because for too long it's been relegated to wealthy, elite, educated, able-bodied white dudes who wanted to elevate themselves above everyone they marginalized
And for too long ceremonial magick has been over-hyped as this super intellectually complex thing that's only for REAL devotees, and I hate to break it to you but, most ceremonial magick is incoherent ramblings of old men who wanted to feel super duper smart
It's not rocket science, so please don't think it's too cerebral for you because the people who made up these rituals were fucking dumbasses trying things out and getting lucky once in a while
Ceremony is for everyone, not just lodge dorks who like smoking cigars, and honestly you'd do ceremonial magick way better than them anyways babes 🪄✨
Neptuno, deo maris — To Neptune, the God of the sea
When departing from land and getting onto a boat or something similar:
Dii terrae marisque, et potentum tempestatum, nos aura leni ferunt et ventum prosperum sequendum afflant. — The gods of earth and sea, and of mighty storms, carry us with gentle breezes and urge us to follow a favorable wind.
When returning from said boat:
Gratias ago Neptuno patrono meo, qui in salso piscibus abundans mari habitat, quod me domum e sacra sede sua, bene onustum et hora bona, reduxit. — I thank my patron Neptune, who lives in the salty sea abounding in fish, for bringing me home from his sacred seat, well laden and at a good hour.
I'll have a post about how to create your own prayers for your deities soon! But for now, I leave you with two of mine!!
How the hell do people find or make a coven, like I’d love to be in one, but I am incredibly sure that the friends of mine who’d be interested in it have more of an ‘Oh, this sounds fun’ interest than an actually witch based interest
Important
This is for MY coven my OCs are in, which is different from irl neo-pagism and wicca covens. As irl, there is no moon goddess that doesn't like men and eats you. Irl covens also obviously also allow men/male witches. The rules in the coven are made up by Luna.
My coven is NOT a cult.

"Can I make an OC for your coven?"
Yes, just follow the rules I set for these and ask me first, as it's important for my OCs' lore later. You are also free to make your own coven. Must be a Spooky Month OC! Try to no let them have the same abilites as the others in it: Water/Gravity (Hecate), Heat (Natalie), Fire (Calida), Ice (Azura), Plants/Poison (Hecate), Shadows/Shape-shifting (Louhi) - Wendy's specific ability as a witch is just being a beast lol
General Information
Founded: ??? - Has been around very long
Deity: Luna
Leader: Hecate
Members: 8 - Hecate, Lucy, Lily, Wendy, Louhi, Azura, Natalie and Calida
Hide Out: ???
Residence: Spooky Town
Enemy: Cult of Eyes
People of interest: Lila, Carmen, Patty, Susie
Recruiting members: The person of interest is chosen by Luna, recuited by Lucy or Hecate. Usually, that person will start to see Luna in their dreams or dream of the moon. The coven prefers quality over quantity. Other members however can recommend people of interest.
Identifying members: While the cult has the amulets, coven members have 3 specific "tattoos" on their body. A pentacle on their upper back, a triple moon on the stomach and runes on arms and legs. See the references of my witch OCs! For the runes, I just used rune brushes from Clip Studio lol.

Rules
For joining:
- Person must identify as a woman, you don't have to be a cis woman for it. Member Calida Summer is mtf for example.
- No member of another coven or similar group, you can only be in one at a time.
- Unlike in the cult, NONE will be thrown before Luna to join. Hecate and Lucy usually recruit members.
- Minimum age to join is 18. This is so the person can make their own decision.
- Person must be either a naturally born witch or a human. Humans will be turned into a witch by Luna and given their powers. Other non-humans such as vampires or werewolves won't be given witch powers.
While active in the coven:
- You must keep being in the coven a secret, do not bring non-members to the coven meeting point. As you never know who is a cultist in this town. If they are seen unfit, they might be overwhelmed by Luna's presence and explode on the spot- You preferably also keep your witch identity a secret, the other members do it too.
- While you are free to kill cultists as they are the main enemy, death of others should be avoided unless your life is in danger. Children that are cultists (if there are any) are not allowed to be killed.
- Treason will be severly punished.
- No worshipping other deities aside Luna
- Must be living in the town of operations
- Respect the other coven members
If you want to leave:
- Must never reveal any secrets about the coven to anyone. Otherwise punishment is death.
- Unlike the cult, you won't be stalked or whatever. But you will be a target if you joined the cult of Eyes.
- Your tattoos will be removed by Luna and you'll keep some burn-like scars from it. If you weren't a naturally born witch, but turned into one by Luna, she will remove your powers, making you a human again.
- You are always free to leave on your own. Traitors will be thrown out.

Coven member abilities
Immunity to Eyes' control and convertion: As their souls are bound to Luna, members of the coven can't be converted or manipulated by Eyes, nor can he enter their dreams. Members are immune to hypnosis of any kind.
Increased magic: If the person is a naturally born witch, their magic will be increased via Luna's magic. Some events bring out the power the most, such as a full moon or blood moon.
Turned into witch: If the person is born as a human, Luna can use her magic to turn her into a "wicked witch". Their specific magic ability is usually one of that person's special talents. Their abilites will increase a lot during a full moon and blood moon.
Hiding their tattoos: Aside the pentacle and triple moon tattoos, the runes on arms and legs can be hidden via magic.
Immortality: Connection to Luna makes the members unkillable, as Luna needs them after all. While cultists lose their immortality if you take their necklaces(?), it doesn't work that way for the coven.
