How do you use tarot cards? I have a deck that I've never quite figured out 😅 (sorry if this is been asked already!)
Hey, no worries! We all have to start somewhere~ 💕
Tarot cards are actually quite easy to start using - there’s a learning curve, but no beginning hurdle! Plus, the more you use them, the more effortless it becomes! So I’m glad you want to give it a try!
The simplest way to start is with a one-card reading. (Like what we do here on the blog for you lovelies!) After all, interpreting one card is easier than doing multiple at once.
To do this, shuffle your deck while thinking about the thing you want guidance about. There’s no special way to do this, although some people (like myself) have their own systems of shuffling. Just go with your gut.
Then, pull a card. It will speak to you - certain cards more strongly than others, but that varies from person to person and you will find those cards for yourself over time.
Listen to what the card has to say - the more you use your deck, the clearer that guidance will become. Mine can slap me clear across the face if I’m not careful lmao…
Until you get a bearing for yourself on what each card represents, look up the meanings! Most decks come with interpretation guides, but if you can’t find yours, there is an abundance of them on Google! Just use the guide you find the easiest to work with and move from there.
Once you get used to one-card readings, you can move to more complex setups, like three-card readings (the usual standard), or Celtic Crosses. There’s a ton of different formations to check out and try! Each one serves a different purpose, so go forth and gain that knowlegde~!
For more resources, I highly recommend Biddy Tarot! They have really simple, in-depth guides for beginners and I’ve turned to them more than once myself when stumped.

Perhaps you should see if you could give this person a call during the weekend or something like that. Free up some of your time, invest a little bit more energy into them, and I think you’ll have nothing to worry about.

Hi! I was wondering how to do coffee or tea scrying. How do you steep your tea? I have loose leaf tea but i usually brew it in a teapot. Should i do it directly in a cup? I can't find much definitive advice online. Thanks!
I’ll be honest, most of the time, I use coffee for my Tasseomancy — I typically prefer it over tea, but that’s just a personal preference of taste. (This works out well since my coffee maker is pure dumpster-fire garbage and leaves grinds in the bottom of every cup I make regardless of whether I’m scrying or not lmao.) That said, when I do use tea, I typically use loose-leaf in an infuser and let it steep straight in my cup.
Either substance works just as well as the other for the purposes of reading, so just go with whichever you prefer to drink. But! Don’t take me as the ultimate authority on this kind of thing.
My feeling is that there is no single, straightforward rulebook for magic — tarot, spells, scrying, etc… It all comes organically to the user and therefore should be performed their own way. I’m sure I do things differently from every other mod on this blog, as they do one another as well. But that doesn’t mean that any of our interpretations or methods are incorrect — they just work best for us. Magic is about finding peace within yourself and the world around you, and the ways of achieving that peace are as personal as the reasons why we seek it.
So, do the same for yourself as we do! Find the method that gives you the most out of your readings and roll with it! There is no wrong way as long as it works for you.
TLDR; I think as long as your method leaves enough grounds/leaves in your cup to get a fulfilling reading, you should be more than okay with whatever you choose to do.
For more information on Tasseomancy, I recommend The Cup of Destiny. It’s a good book for beginners and comes with a teacup that helps with readings. I use it myself sometimes!
