“Dan, will you just...come out? For once?”
A chuckle came from the younger dragon’s room, barely audible but still there, loud enough for Amasis to hear.
“Of the closet? Did it centuries ago.” Daniyal replied, earning a groan from his best friend.
“Just let me see it, will ya?”
It had been one hour already since Amasis had arrived. And forty-five minutes since the other had locked himself in his room to try his Halloween costume. Just how elaborate was it to take so long?
“Alright, alright, I’m almost done!”
Upon hearing the click of heels coming towards the door, Amasis stopped leaning on it and stepped back, jaw dropping when his mate opened the door. That was definitely...a lot of sparkle. But it didn’t feel exaggerated, which was a perk of Dan’s: too much never looks like it.
The robes were black, flowy and very long, layers on top of layers with details in beautiful patterns of lace. The black choker around Daniyal’s neck had a dragon breath opal, which matched perfectly with the dark red lipstick, the eyeliner and the glittery purple eyeshadow. Amasis did not know how, but the other’s scales and horns had crystallized, changing color between dark purple and blue as light hit them from different directions. The curls of dark brown hair faded to crimson and the long, well-kept nails, were painted black. Wow. Simply wow.
“Danny...what did I say about the love spells, goddamn?”
