it's all fun and games thinking about maeve's interest in older men and general love of having witchers around her bc some of them have lived through a lot of history that they can share with her from a unique perspective, until you start thinking about miss human bard being struck by the thought that some of them are Significantly older and yeah they Have lived a long time, some of them an overwhelmingly long time, and she's never going to last that long and it's terrifying thinking she'll end up as another one of those "oh, i don't remember their name" people in their stories so she spends over a decade of her life trying to make the biggest impact that she can on people's lives through her works and actions just so they won't forget her when she's gone

one half of a pair of twins; daughter of a lesser noble house, rewarded title of lady-in-waiting for years of the family’s loyalty and service to a more powerful noble house. one of the 60 girls born under the black sun, along with her twin sister (though it was kept quiet to avoid potential dangers to the family)
dealt with the Classique of these girls with struggling through horrific nightmares on the reg, though they would go away if she shared a bed with her sister so they spent a lot of nights together. wasn’t as outwardly Violent as many reported cursed girls were,,, instead has more?? cunning vibes about it, spent a lot of time thinking to herself about how to manipulate events into her and/or her sister’s favor, didn’t care very much about any violence that would come of the plans if ever it did.
tries to avoid violence or anger or any sort of emotion/discussion/plan that could circle back to Madness or Bloodthirst bc she knows that’s what is to be expected of black sun girls and she was told by her parents to keep that shit on the low just in case. add on top of that her taking up the role of the more Graceful and Eloquent sister while her sister started getting more monstrous, serana became v skilled at hiding her emotions and laying on the charm to make up for it all and try to Distract.
her cursed girl mutation is that she can work as a magic amplifier. not sure if it’s an aura?? thing just yet, or if she needs to touch or focus on something for it to work but it’s still There. a Thing.
managed to survive a Good amount of time before anyone caught onto the girls’ and the truth surrounding their births, but eventually was ousted in the middle of court and locked away until a mage could be summoned to take her away and be dealt with. before her sister could get her out, she was taken away by a mage for “tests and research”.
so that was a fucking lie.jpeg—the mage did take serana, but quickly discovered her abilities to amplify magic and instead of killing her for research decided to keep her on a leash (so to speak) and use her for that ability. don’t know? exactly?? how long this lasted, but it was quite some time as the mage was able to easily keep escaping due to the amplified powers. was constantly kept under control but hey got to see some new places at least while being forced to travel around,, even if she spent a lot of that time in places locked away in a building. that’s fine, it’s all fine
probably eventually gets saved by her sister?? who has teamed up with [at least] thaddeus and sinéad at that point to find and rescue her from the mage. also mayhaps the mage is thaddeus’ ex who pulled a lot of shit at kaer seren??
