For Halloween/Samhain I made a witch’s bell with stuff I had lying around. A bell (duh), a pit bull charm, granite beads, a hand blown glass bead from my friend’s store (made in the 60s in what is now the Czech Republic), tiny charms (a star and a horse), a glass bottle with sand, shells, and ash, an antique (maybe skeleton) key, a sterling key pendent given to me by my maternal grandmother (which matches several necklaces that the women on that side of my family own), a shell, the bones that used to live in my dreads, and the mystery date nail I found the other day (no clue how it got in my bedside table drawer) with the number 43 on it, all tied, woven, and braided together with black ribbon, of which I had just enough. I wanted to be sure to include things from both sides of my family, as well as things from different stages of my life. If anyone has any info about the numbers 43 or 7 I am interested. I read that the number 7 corresponds with the chariot in tarot. The date nail is a true mystery and I’m an ex oogle so it actually has meaning for me. I want to know who left it for me.
