Last night I went to an art exhibition called ‘She - A collective of female artists destroying the joint’
Tucked away in a grimey industrial area the quirky studio exhibited works of various mediums from over 20 female artists. The exhibition supported International Women's day and a portion of the proceeds went to International Women’s Development Agency who focuses on women's rights and gender equality.
The works that received the most attention were not the $800 paintings on the walls but more so the private and unconventional Zines hanging on a stand in the middle of the room. The ones that really struck a chord with me were by Miss Helen and Witchhboy as they were extremely raw, honest and interesting.
