💎Crystal Cleansing💎

Hi beans! Today in the second Witchling 101 post, we will be talking about cleansing crystals. I’ve noticed many younger witches are frequently drawn towards crystals but don’t have a lot of knowledge on what to do once they get them, soooo here is Poppy’s guide to cleansing!

The simplest and probably easiest way to cleanse and charge your crystals is moonlight or sunlight! I generally use moonlight because a lot of crystals can be damaged by the sun and you can never be too careful. If you aren’t sure if your crystals are safe in the sun, a quick google search does wonders. Just leave your crystals outside in a safe place (I don’t recommend this because honestly outside anything can happen and yo don’t wanna lose your crystals to a storm or something) or set them near a window facing the moon. Be sure to put them away in the morning so that they don’t fade!

Another way is with sage. If you have access to sage and can safely burn it, I definitely recommend this. Not only will it cleanse your space, but also your crystals! Wave it around your space and set the sage down in a dish with your crystals around it so they can take in the cleansing smoke.

Another easy way is with a sigil! If you don’t know this already, sigils are symbols that represent your intent and can be charged. Place your crystals on or around the sigil to cleanse it. This way is quick and easy, so long as you have the appropriate sigil.

If your crystal is safe to be in water, a salt/water solution will cleanse your crystals. Make sure your crystals can be put in water before you do this!! You can also put it under running water, whether it’s a spout or a stream. If you use the salt/water solution, putting a crystal in it overnight should do the trick, or at least when you feel like it is cleansed. Trust your intuition when checking if it is cleansed. This goes for all of the methods.

You can also bury your crystals in salt/sand/or another cleansing material! This allows your crystal to be surrounded by the energy of whatever you use, leaving no room for anything negative to stay.

Pendulum

I want a pendulum but I am not sure where to start. Is there a trusted shop my fellow witchlings and witches that use them go to? What is the best step to take? Make my own, purchase one, use jewelry I already have? Help please. I’m unsure. I know I want one though, that is for sure. Anything on pendulums will help. Thankies 💞🌸

💎Crystal Charging 💎

Hello darlings! Welcome back to Witchling 101, a series for baby witches by the Sardonyx Sisters! Today it’s all about crystal charging. Let’s jump right in!

Crystal charging is basically letting a crystal absorb energy through a variety of different methods to suit your needs. Charged crystals can be used for spells, glamours, or to strengthen your intent. It is important to cleanse your crystals before you charge them, as cleansing crystals gets rid of negative or stagnant energy. Here are some methods of charging crystals!

Place your crystals in the sunlight or moonlight. This is a method that can charge crystals, similar, and even water. This allows the energy of celestial bodies to flow into your crystals. Many witches prefer setting crystals out in the moonlight instead of the sunlight. This is because the sunlight can fade certain crystals. Do your research on whether your crystals fade or not before you put them in sunlight! Make sure to take them out of the moonlight before the sun rises as well. Even so, some witches, especially sun witches or those who worship sun deities, prefer sunlight. Pick any way that works for you.

An easy way is with a sigil. Either make your own on the spot or find one on tumblr that suits your needs. Draw it on a piece of paper and charge it just as you would a crystal, then place crystals on it for a while. This way is easy and quick if you’re in a crunch for time, so long as you have the appropriately charged sigil.

Another, more challenging way is with your own energy. This can seem daunting at first, but it really is easy if you’re decent at visualization. This method is draining, though, so don’t go out running a marathon after. Hold your crystal in your clasped hands and visualize your own energy flowing into it until it is glowing with your own energy. Visualization is hard with some people, so make sure to trust your intuition.

Trust your intuition with all of these. Especially with the sigil and your own energy methods, it can be hard to tell when the crystal is appropriately charged. Be guided by your own instincts.
