Pagan Pages: Offerings
When working with different deities or entities, one of the most common practices is offerings. While the whole practice of paganism is the power of self, our entities serve as friends, council, or disciplinarians. For most, we maintain a continuous working relationship with them, and offerings are our way of thanking them for all they do. However, the offerings should be uniquely fitted to the entity you are wanting to honor. Odin, for instance, enjoys offerings of mead, cuts of meat, poetry, or bourbon. Frigga is the All-Mother, so I honor her as I clean my house. Hela, on the other hand, enjoys rotten apples and/or animal bones on her altars. Loki enjoys whatever it is that you are presenting to another. I suggest doing research beforehand to figure out what offer best fits your intentions and entity.
The more you work with a given energy, the better you will begin to understand their likes and dislikes. No offering is too small, though the gifts will mean more to your entities the more they mean to you.
