Day 30 & 31: Selfie & Happy Halloween // 📸 "Moments, rather than possessions, are the true treasures of life." - Frank Sonnenberg 📸 I wanna use this final post to celebrate being finally done with these #mywitchunioc witchtober prompts!! 🎉🎉 I'm not proud it took me so long & that this Halloween post is a few months late 😭 but I am proud of this piece & with the fact that I had fun this witchtober instead of stressing myself out! Learned a couple of things along the way & who knows? Maybe I'll do better this year cus of it 😁 Thanks to everyone who cheered me on! And yes, the squad did go out trick-or-treating together as a whole Pokemon team. Can you guess who's what? 😜 Everyone here belongs to me except Ina (bottom left) belongs to a friend~ 🎃 Even if you don't celebrate Halloween, have you ever dressed in costume for an occasion?

Day 23: an Unexpected gift // 🎁 "The hell am I s'posed t'do with a Dwarf's battle axe??" 🎁

🎉 For Sam's birthday, the girls chipped in to get an incredibly loud sweater Natalie found online. It was mainly for laughs but Sam couldn't deny it was super comfy. 🎉 Vali wasn't the best at getting gifts but it's the thought that counts. But Sam wonders what he was thinking when he gave the antiquated axe. Apparently it'd been one of the treasures he hoarded from his travels ages ago. It now sits on a high shelf display in the shoppe. 🎉 Natalie would always gets Sam gifts that make him laugh, or she'd just treat him out to eat. Liore would always write him a handwritten note or card, regardless of a gift. When they started dating, she'd add a kiss at the end 💋 🎉 When Sam was younger, he used to get birthday cake. But as he got older, he wasn't too keen on sweets so the cakes stopped. Instead, tradition was now dark-chocolate cupcakes (enough for everyone) & Gran's famous lamb stew 🎂 🎉 Sam prefers celebrating birthdays at home with his few loved ones & friends rather than extravagant parties or dinners. If anyone threw him a surprise in a public place, he'd get awfully embarrassed.

Day 14: School lockers // ⚰️ "Blessed be the man that spares these stones, And cursed be he that moves my bones." - William Shakespeare ⚰️ ✏️ All lockers are dark grey & coffin shaped. Vampires often modify & use them as their nap-space when in between their night classes. ✏️ Sam tries not to keep too many things in his locker. Just the necessities for classes & projects, like the crystal ball for Divination & extra ingredients for Potions. ✏️ The Goblin Hand is a safekeep box Sam uses to store an extremely important item in case he can't carry it on his person. It only opens when it feels the spirit energy of the owner, otherwise it is clamped shut with no physical or magickal way of opening. ✏️ Every time Natalie stops by to chat with Sam when he has his locker open, she'll always have a sticker ready to paste somewhere. Sam doesn't mind, saying it makes his space more colorful 😁 ✏️ Sam borrows a lot of books from the library, mostly for leisure reading. Since he's quite a quick reader, he doesn't end up hoarding the books for too long, unless he really enjoys it & reads it again.

Day 29: Taking a bath/shower // 🛁 "Cleanliness is next to godliness, they say." 🛁 💦 Sam's house didn't have a bathtub growing up so he was used to taking showers, & prefferred them. The first time he ever used a bathtub was when he slept over Nat's house as a kid. 💦 On a couple of trips, where they had to stay at a hotel or b&b, Sam could appreciate a nice hot bath after a long, tiring day of sight-seeing to soothe the muscles & aching feet. 💦 One time they stayed at a Japanese-style resort which had those open, public hot springs. It was definitely an experience none of them would forget. At least Vali enjoyed himself 😂 💦 When Sam's a few years older, he gets another tattoo on his back which reads 'C'est dans le grands dangers  qu'on voit les grands courages'. Meaning: It is in the great dangers that one sees a great courage. 💦 When asked about the ink, he tells them it's a quote by a French poet & ever since finding it, it struck him in ways he couldn't explain. Sam said that, in a way, there was no use being afraid when living life to the fullest. That was how he understood it anyway.

Day 28: Underwear // 🧦 "Humility is like underwear; essential, but indecent if it shows." 🧦 ⏺️ Sam prefers boxers over briefs. Most of his wardrobe is plain & the ones with the crazy patterns are usually gifts from both Nat & Liore 🤭 He doesn't mind them one bit & especially enjoys the spooky-themed ones. ⏺️ It's not easy for Sam to wake up some mornings, & being a night owl doesn't help. He can get up when he needs to, & after setting a few alarms, but an ideal morning is when he can sleep in. ⏺️ He has thick, wavy hair that gets even curlier & messier in the mornings. Sam doesn't use products in his hair other than his shampoo & conditioner & a bit of brushing is all it takes to tame the wild bedhead. ⏺️ Sam doesn't own pajamas, usually sleeping in just a loose shirt & sweatpants. He likes the cold & has trouble sleeping if it gets too hot. Because of this, he often sleeps topless or in incredibly thin shirts. Of course he owns blankets but they almost always end up on the floor most mornings. ⏺️ According to Nat & Liore, thanks to their many sleepovers since they were children, Sam often talks in his sleep. At first he didn't believe them, until finally they showed a recording of him mumbling about needing to butter a lobster.

Day 26 & 27: Happy place & Studying // ❇️ "If my heart was a compass, you'd be North." ❇️ 🌷 For as long as he could remember, Sam practically grew up in the shoppe rather than their family home. It housed plenty of wonderful memories, especially since it was thanks to Sundown that he met Liore & Natalie. 🌷 Ever since they were little kids, Sam's bedroom was their 'spot', the hub for them to gather & scheme, to play fortress & do their homework together. There were sleepovers, movie nights & study circles up until they graduated. 🌷 Even as they got older & were majoring in different courses, the trio still convened & studied together in Sam's room at uni like it was a natural thing. Staying up late during exam weeks were some of their best & hilarious nights~ 🌷 Sometimes -when it was just the two of them- Sam would keep Liore company & lean on her shoulder, listening to the sound of her voice as she read her material out loud. He'd fall asleep but deny it every time. 🌷 Sam's 'happy place' was never one single place. It was wherever the people he loved the most gathered, whether it was home, his grandparents', the shoppe or even his dormroom. As long as they were there, he was happy.

Day 25. Creating a signature potion // 🍁 "The best kind of potion is the one you put in your heart & soul. Cus aren't we too made of magick?" 🍁

🔶 For their Advanced Potions final year project, everyone had to create their own concoction & write a report on what made their potion unique; what made it 'you'. 🔶 He called it 'Autumn's Reminisce' - a perfume! When applied, the fragrance is not defined by one particular scent. Instead, it smells like your fondest memories of the season. The scent not only affects the wearer but anyone close enough to smell it, triggering the deepest parts of your subconscious. 🔶 When testing it on family & friends, Sam was ecstatic over the results! Natalie reported it smelled like her mom's homemade hot chocolate on a chilly evening. Liore was transported back to her reading nook, wrapped in Sam's scarf & reading her favorite book. Sam himself could smell gran's famous lamb stew & the musty smell of the Sundown shoppe. 🔶 Sam managed really well even with the minimal coaching Nat gave him. Even though he really wanted to pass the class, he made sure he passed it on his own effort. He got a B+, which was good enough for him! 🔶 Granda & gran liked the mixture so much, they wanted to sell it in the shoppe. Sam didn't mind one bit, telling them to keep the profits for themselves (which ofc they didn't & send him a nice envelope every month). Strange enough, it's very popular during valentines day.
