what color is your aura?

SAMHAIN - Ivory

lace, marble, china dishes, doves, paper, bones, vanilla shakes. your essence is ivory: you are a piece of history, sturdy and eternal. others believe you to be gentle; they don't see the pressure that is threatening to crack you. you seek control and organize your life into rows. you are the overseer. you are the porcelain. you find kinship in like-minded individuals of grey, noir, pearl, and ashen, who share the pressure you put on yourself. you are also drawn to the expressive rose and lilac, who will help you grow and learn that things will be okay even if they don't go right. however, you may struggle to get along with the indulgent personalities of sky and apricot who need too much stimulation and decadence.

NIGHTSHADE - Pink

cupcakes, sunglasses, pink sands, starbursts, pinky promises, flower crowns, ice cream. your essence is pink: you are vibrant and ambitious, an untrimmed flower. your energy is consuming; it wraps others up into your enthusiasm and influence. your gift is seeing things for how they truly are and shifting yourself to be the star of any situation. you are the pioneer. you are their envy. you find kinship in like-minded individuals of magenta, rose, wine, and orchid, who share your fluid social skills. you are also drawn to the even-tempered souls grey and brown, who will help you grow and learn how to ground yourself. however, you may struggle to get along with the questioning personalities of green and yellow who are too linear in their thinking.

AXEL - Sky

short poems, teacups, clear skies, diaries, dripping icicles, tears, tennis shoes. your essence is sky: you are a hard worker and do not relent on something once you have begun. you are giving to all but yourself and pour from an empty cup; you want to be simple, self-sufficient, easy. you overflow with creativity but throw away your sketches before they're even done. you are the dauntless. you are the venturer. you find kinship in like-minded individuals of blue, navy, periwinkle, and seafoam, who likewise hold themselves to high standards. you are also drawn to the self-actualizing sage and apricot, who will help you grow and relax into your feelings. however, you may struggle to get along with the strict personalities of ivory and blush who seem overly critical.

The silence that stretched after Ada’s reply made her heart skip even faster. Had she already misspoken? What did he do to those who offended him? She pressed backward into the gnarled roots, curling her knees to her chest in an effort to vanish altogether.

He spoke again. A tentative breath of relief escaped Ada, and she nodded. On second thought, perhaps hiding was rather rude. She pushed herself upright, clutching onto tree roots for support as her weary legs wobbled beneath her like a newborn doe, and shakily brushed soil from her patched clothing.

A deep breath. “The, um… the Huntmaster of Alderwood Court seeks your aid in a hunt.” Though her quiet voice still trembled, reciting a message came easier than inventing the words on her own. “A beast has been killing the hunters of Alderwood. Eleven have died so far. The Huntmaster wishes to catch the beast alive before it kills more. So far, it has evaded all manner of tracking or i- identifying.”

Exhaustion weighed heavily on her shoulders; Ada shivered, her grip white-knuckled on her satchel strap. “The— the bounty is rare ingredients h- harvested from the prey of previous hunts. Bones, blood, heart- heartstrings… there are, um, few materials missing from the court’s collection.”

Hm? A flicker of intrigue flashed in the ghoul's bright green eyes. What manner of beast could be such a handful that even the great Huntmaster sought aid? They have yet to even identify the mysterious creature..

Curious as he was, Sow'in debated whether hunting such a creature would be worth his time and skills. All that effort into catching a beast that even eluded the great hunters of Alderwood, and for what? Access to ingredients from their pantry? The ghoul scoffed.

And then — an idea.

"There are fewer materials missing from mine own," said Sow'in, suddenly appearing in front of the faerie out of shadow and mist. A pale, humanoid face stared down at Ada. Watching her. Reading her. The cloak that draped from his shoulders looked like they were made from the night itself, void of light and twisting like smoke at its ends. "Ah'm more interested in the beast itself."

Alderwood hunters were known as some of the best, at least on this known side of faerie, and the Huntmaster requesting aid in their hunts was practically unheard of. The more Sow'in thought about it, the more interested he was in the creature. He wanted nothing more than to study it, and learn how it evaded capture from beings whose way of life was dedicated to The Hunt. The ghoul found that more valuable than anything the Court had to offer from their collection.
