#driving myself crazy watching old videos of kaija#at irbe’s current age kaija was so much ‘‘further’’ in her training#but all of her skills i had essentially built on nothing#no foundation#it was mostly just a lot of luring and then trusting her to figure it out#(which she did#she has always been such a fast learner and that was so evident in these puppy training videos)#vs. how methodical i’ve been *attempting* to be with irbe’s training#and consequently how much longer it is taking#today she correctly came into front stand position with a 180deg turn#with a platform#believe it or not but shaping her to get all four on the platform when coming in from an angle#(and not go into an auto-sit)#has taken me weeks#then i watch videos of baby kaija and i wonder how long it would have taken to get to this point with her#but then again she never got to have these foundations so who knows#the videos also made me miss those times so much#i would give a lot to be back there#which is another useless train of thought to go down i know it is#i can never go back#but the longing to experience kaija’s puppyhood again is overwhelming rn
