reinforcing the sex/gender binary is harmful regardless of how “dumb” the proponent is. some of the most shamelessly ignorant public figures you will ever hear about can do immense damage to the communities of people affected by their rhetoric.

“alpha male” not a real thing, just a label that men ascribe to each other. many who believe in this garbage are dumb as rocks lol. but A) what does it even mean to be “dumb” and B) bigotry is not necessarily dependent on a lack of “intelligence” or education, though many people would have you believe otherwise. plenty of highly educated people are bigots. what does it even mean to be “highly educated” . lol!

I can’t believe you’re making me say this but dean is not dumb in the way you’re implying 😭😭😭 he Plays Dumb because it serves him and because he has enough power to not have to concern himself with e.g. what misogyny is and how his own misogynistic beliefs impact the women around him. crucially many men in your life also do this. they don’t need to think about it if nobody challenges them to. just like most white people simply do not think about racism with any regularity, because they benefit from it and it does not negatively affect their experience of the world.
