Midnight life in Mystic Falls was vibrant and loud, something that made Demitri never want to wander from the comfort of his shadowy apartment. But it was not that easy β and he had no choice when he was right at the tail of another vampire.
His steps were hurried, pushing through the rainy streets to follow her into a dark alley. Demitriβs eyes had never left her ever since she entered the Grill; and he had immediately understood what she was. He'd dedicated his whole life, childhood and adulthood, to perfect how to slaughter them and most importantly how to detect them. She would just be one of the many he'd eliminated β just that.
Demitri pushed her against the wall before she could react, his palm nearly covering the entirety of her head as he shoved it harshly against the tiles. His other hand shot down to his belt where a carved stake was hidden β and Demitri retrieved it, stabbing her sides with it.
β Whatβs wrong? No private vampire clubs to be at? β He growled at her with hatred, twisting the wooden stake inside her body in a slow and torturous way.
