giles nesbitt needs “space” and “time,” as if this were physics and not a human relationship. he’s not the easiest individual to be around most days but once you learn about his tragic past and the things he’s endured; his awkwardness can be explained. the red-head prefers the “concept” of space because he doesn’t want to be boxed in. the weyrwolf wants to roam free with no boundaries and hopes to secure a future where he’s never forced to live inside another box ever again. most tend to believe he’s creating a joke about the “supposed” box that his sister and him were held captive in for seven years but that has never been the case. those were the darkest moments of his existence and he didn’t realize this until his sister planned his escape into this colorful world.
alone, confused, and starved for affection the child has wandered around this town for years without a home and a permanent family. that was until a certain crew of wolves took him in and raised him to be the man he is today. as a boy who wanted to get lost in the idea of “space,” and flung amongst the stars with his fingertips dancing against the milky way ... he’s now changed his perception of this place. now having seen the world from the stars’ point of view, he admits the world looked unbearably lonely. that was until he started to pull back the layers and examine the many moving parts that created this planet.
giles was never truly lost in this world. the weyrwolf knew exactly who he was and what he could accomplish with those who wanted to be there for him. the key point was acceptance and allowing himself to be loved. yes, he’ll still wonder around this town completely aloof but he can now be more open to human experiences.
