Kyle knocks on Kate's door. He's never been here before. Or to Marleigh's place, now that he thinks of it. He's of course walked down the hall to see the others, but that's different, really. He's actually having to come pick her up. His car's bigger, better for hauling a Christmas tree. Kyle glances around, frowning. There's no overt gang violence or anything, nothing obvious to trigger his internal alarms, but he still doesn't like it here. He especially doesn't like that tiny Kate lives here by herself. It's disconcerting. When she opens the door Kyle smiles down at her. Ready to go?

How are you doing today, Kate? Since we didn't really... finish our conversation last night. Kyle hedged, not really knowing how to bring up the topic of the police and her ex.
