BE PATIENT AND ASK FOR WISDOM
~The book of James is full of directions of how to handle ourselves when we fall into various trials but in my reading today what stood out to me was how we are to be patient and persevering until the coming of the Lord. We are directed to establish our hearts for His coming is at hand, it also teaches how the prophets endured trials. And to let our yes be yes and our no be no. Learning patience is tuff and one of the hardest things to obtain especially in the world we live in today which is a -give it to me now world. But when we are patient it produces much fruit taking us deeper with God and according to His word “perfect and complete lacking nothing.” I encourage you to read all of James it’s only five chapters long. ~
James 1:1-5 “James a bondservant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad: Greetings. My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete lacking nothing. If any on you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.”
~Without reproach means our God won’t scold, rebuke, insult us for asking this scripture 1:5 assures us that God will give us wisdom and he won’t remind us how Unworthy we are.~
James 5:7-12 “Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the early and latter rain. You also be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand. Do not grumble against one another, brethren, lest you be condemned. Behold, the Judge is standing at the door! My brethren, take the prophets, who spoke in the name of the Lord, as an example of suffering and patience. Indeed we count them blessed who endure. You have heard of the perseverance of Job and seen the end intended by the Lord-that the Lord is very compassionate and merciful. But above all, my brethren, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or with any other oath. But let your "Yes” be “Yes” and your “No” be “No”, lest you fall into judgment.“
~Whatever trail you are going through be reminded what it produces and ask God for wisdom His word states we can. Be blessed and know that this too shall pass. Have faith and don’t doubt!
