You mentioned you believed in ghosts - and now I'm a bit interested, what is your relationship with supernatural stuff? Don't you think it contradicts science?

I do! In that, I do believe in science and the supernatural at the same time (which, for me, is intertwined with religion and my belief in a higher power and the afterlife), and I don’t think either contradict each other. The TLDR version of it is is that because I believe in a higher power, I find it illogical to deny the existence of an afterlife. And the reason that I believe in a higher power is that while I find science invaluable, it is only functional to a certain extent, where it doesn’t always have the answers to the (existential) questions that I’m looking for.
There are scientific ways to explain paranormal phenomena, and I’ve heard everything ranging from creaking pipes, hallucinogenic drugs, and electromagnetic fields, but they can’t always account for everything, and these unaccountable things—these are things that I want answers to. If science can’t explain it, then the supernatural doesn’t exist in a position of contradiction with science, and without such a conflict, science can’t negate or definitively deny the existence of the supernatural either.
I’ve always believed in ghosts, but an experience that really solidified my beliefs was this house that I lived in for a year that was, at least in my opinion, haunted.
Below the cut, what happened:
It was a really ordinary house, and it wasn’t super old or anything, so I wasn’t expecting it. But within the very first few days, really weird things kept happening. There was a stuffed toy that had lights that could only be operated by pressing a button—it started lighting up by itself (maybe a delayed reaction?). Doors would open and close by themselves (yiikes, but logically, that could’ve been the wind?). The second day there, I looked across from the kitchen to the living room and saw the shadow of a man sitting on the couches, even though no one was there (my imagination?).
But then there were things that really couldn’t be explained. For example, the house had a basement suite that was going to be rented out, and I remember hearing loud footsteps and banging, so bad that I complained about it to my mom—she said that the family hadn’t even moved in yet…
And the strangest thing about that house was probably what we found underneath the stairs. There was a door there (imagine Harry Potter’s cupboard), and the space was huge. It was filled with suitcases—about twenty—nearly all of them locked and left behind. We threw them out, but my ghost-believing ass was really afraid of what could have been inside them ಠ_ಠ
Honestly, I could’ve dismissed all of this, but the thing that ultimately convinced me that there was something seriously wrong with the house was the way that I felt. That place was terrifying to be alone in. It was strangely suffocating, and whenever I was inside, I would get the sense that something really bad was about to happen. I had to keep running outside just because the atmosphere of that house was one of impending doom.
So this is one reason why I just can’t dismiss it for some logical explanation. I’d never felt that way inside a house before, and when we moved from there, the next house felt perfectly normal. And I really looked for a scientific explanation. But there just wasn’t one.
I mean, shit, if you’re basically going to toss out any semblance of historical accuracy and doing Happy Fun Murder Time in the wacky setting of a war that killed millions and involved one side practicing ethnic cleansing, why not just go full throttle and make a Sucker Punch game?
I mean, surely fighting zombies with mechs isn’t as offensive as reimagining Anne Frank’s Diary as a Michael Bay movie.
Plus side I like on and off fell asleep for a tiny bit laying down trying to get rid of my headache and its mostly gone, downside I'm now very disoriented
