raven paced around her brother, her jaw clenched so tight her teeth grit together. she threw the newspaper at him without looking. “—YOU WERE WITH A FRIEND LAST NIGHT?” she spat squeezing her forearm with her fist. “ YOU’RE ON THE PAPER MATTY.” her voice cracked as she teared up.

it took a moment for him to catch up to what she meant, the friend that she had mentioned. and when the paper was thrown at him, he knew full well. he had smelled a fellow mutant’s blood, had been intoxicated and driven to chase the rush he got from absorbing their powers. if only the bastard hadn’t screamed. but the alley had been dark. even with a light shone down, they wouldn’t have gotten him completely. but his eyes... that would be enough to put him away. “i couldn’t help it, rave. you know how i get. they didn’t get my face anyway.”
