Perhaps they, like the vampires, kept out of sight from the lesser beings. If the old stories have any truth to them, even vampires would have paled in comparison to them.”

“I haven’t done many speculations about them, however. I’ve always believed them to be nothing but human imagination run wild.”

Now this... Was unexpected.

Taking a step back to allow himself to take in the creature in front of him, the vampire slowly regained his posture, eyes narrowed at the sight of the giant lizard creature in front of him. So they did exist, huh. How... Strangely amazing.

“A beast such as yourself must have had quite the hiding skills in order to stay undiscovered among the humans.” Unlike the vampires, she didn’t seem to posses the human-like features, that had come the vampires in handy for centuries. And with humanity and their desire for discovering new species and new lands... It must have been quite the task

“My apologies for my seemingly impolite words, I’m simply astonished at what you’ve managed.” And that she’d chosen to reveal herself at a time like this.

“Oh? A ‘dragoness’, you say?” He would’ve been more intrigued with the individual herself, had it not been for the second statement she made - and certainly his attention was nearly torn away to focus on her bizarre inquiry.

“The Fifth Progenitor? Oh, now why on Earth would a being like you be interested in an individual of our brethren? Surely, it hasn’t been because he’s enticed you?” Of course, he was merely jesting around - mere, childish humour and antics. “Forgive my rude manners, I was only teasing.”

“Now, about my honest opinion about the Fifth? Well, he’s certainly quite reliable when it comes to upholding his tasks and duties - unlike a certain Queen of Japan. That aside, he’s also quite the intriguing individual to be around. He’s not precisely as eccentric as the Seventh, but all the same quite as peculiar - but not to the point where I’d resent his presence. He does become overbearing after a while, but not always.”

He paused, gazing off somewhere else as if pondering on a thought - weighing his next words and choosing them carefully. “If anything...I’d say I’d prefer being around him than Ferid - or even Krul and Lord Geales, for that matter. After all, at least he’s willing to bear with me rather than brush me off. You see, it actually becomes quite boring after awhile, ruling and dealing with political matters. The only fun I have around Lord Geales is when we’re out on whatever mission, whatever matters needing attending to. With Krul, it’s when I actually bother to go out to Japan on a coincidence for a meeting of a sort - other than that, in between those moments, the Fifth would be usually my source of entertainment. Though, I’d say he doesn’t mind it too much.”

Suddenly, he pauses, realizing he’d been merely rambling at this point. Ah, he needed to fix that habit of his.

“Enough about that - I would like to learn more about you, madame. I would like to know, simply, why an individual of the dragons is here standing before me? And asking some rather...unique questions?”
