Wedding!sos blurb? specifically ash getting married?
In love with this concept.
Ash buttons his cuffs. He’s nervous, but he isnt. More nervous for you, to see you and have to control his emotions. Knowing that after all the years and the highs and lows, you still would choose him. You still want his last name in whatever empowered form you chose to take it.
He stares out the window. The picturesque scene sprawled out before him. The vineyard had been his idea, because you were just about to give up and say ‘let’s elope’.
“Ash.” Luke says, ash turns and looks at him and Luke hands him the bourbon on the rocks. He takes a sip and turns fully toward the room. He watches his friends hustle around the room, making sure they’re looking their best.
His eyes land on the frame across the room. Cal is to get it into the suite Ash will be sharing with you later. His original vows, he’d wanted you guys to write them. But when he sat down and did the writing... it was too much and too personal for every one to hear. The two of you were meant to know and that was it.
“How ya feeling?” Cal asks, looking at Ash.
“I feel good. I’m excited.” Ash grins.
“Good.” Cal clinks their glasses, “you look good.”
Ash stands at the end of the ‘aisle’ Cal is directly behind him and then Luke and Michael. He doesn’t remember the walk down the aisle. The bridesmaids are lined up but he doesn’t remember them getting there either.
And then, he hears the first note of the song you’d chosen to walk down the aisle to and you are the only thing in the entire world. Everything, and I do mean everything, fades away. As soon as his eyes meet yours, he’s the only thing in your world.
You watch the tears well up in his eyes. You’d taken bets on who’d cry first and how quick and you’d picked this exact moment. The wedding party owed you. But it didn’t matter, the way Ash was looking at you... you watch Calums hand clamp on Ash’s shoulder and your maid of Honor reaches over to hand him a tissue.
You keep your eyes on him, your dad guiding you to make sure you didn’t miss a step.
You get to the end of the aisle, Ash steps toward you, your dad hugs him, tells him to take care of his little girl, then your dad hugs you and whispers how proud he is and how much he loves you. Ash visibly has tears running down his face as he takes your hands and the ceremony starts.
You’d opted to keep it short. You’d both been to long weddings and neither of you liked them.
He keeps squeezing your hands. And letting one go to wipe his eyes.
“Bubba.” You whisper, smiling at him. You squeeze his hands back. “I love you.”
“I love you.” He whispers back.
The officiant finally pronounces you as married and Ash swings you into a kiss. Pulling you in to walk back down the aisle. He finally just lets all of his emotions out, pressing his back to a wall. You watch him, “Ash?” You say quietly, resting a hand on his chest.
He pulls you into him, wipes his eyes again, “you look incredible... I’m just so happy.” He pulls you into a hug, “so happy, love.”
You hum, “me too bubba. I love you. You know I love you in a suit. Such a good day.” You agree.
He presses his forehead to yours, “this. Everything. You and me.”
“Forever.” You agree.
“Forever.” He presses his lips to yours.
