Alright, wizard convention!
I got up and got going early this morning and got there in time for the eleven o’clock speaker, a professor lecturing on interdimensional threats and discoveries of the past ten years. I was surprised to find the Avatar of Ice mentioned towards the end, and the possibility of the avatars of the other paraelemental planes being summoned. I went up and talked with the professor, he was very excited to see me.
At lunch I caught up with an old colleague, another wizard from my bounty hunting days who I used to be close with. As we were talking I realized it’s only been about six months since I’ve seen her but it feels like longer.
I attended two workshops in the afternoon, one of advanced transmutation (something I’ve been struggling with), and another on the unearthing of lost spells. The unearthing one was very fascinating, because it seems like every time there’s a major archeological dig someone finds a scroll with a spell that was lost for centuries. They’re not all good, but it’s upsetting how many of them were “lost” simply because the society that discovered them was destroyed by imperialism.
I’m currently at the keynote speaker for the evening, sitting at a table with a couple people I met at the lost spell workshop. They said there’s going to be a party at the hotel tonight and we’re going to go together, so I’ll let you know how that goes.
