So, to answer your very important question, YES WE ARE FULL OF THE STUFF, for better or worse. While that fun stuff like "environment, upbringing, chemistry, ghosts/aliens/demons you vaguely remember from childhood have a HUGE impact on the choices you make, you are still making those choices and all you have to do is look at a few sets of twins to see what I mean. You have 2 people (provided they grew up together) with all or almost all of the input as the other, yet, by making different choices in their lives, they often end up very, VERY different, and in very different places, often physically, than the other.
Hell, one take on quantum theory states that the little choices we're making all the time actually dictates our entire reality. Oh, that's basically also Magick theory. I'd be a really shitty Wizard if I thought we were all going through the motions, a slave to the whims of the gods! But being powerless is a kind of power and some folks will take the easy out every time and blame, fate, parents or any circumstantial thing that absolves them of responsibility for their own choices and actions.
But us Wizards, Witches, Warlocks and Peacelocks make our own luck, often in long, unintelligible mantras while spinning around with Swords or fire, or Swords on fire if you're having a real good Ritual!
